I find these CSM chat logs REALLY useful. They are a great service for the community, not to mention the CSM in itself. This kind of interaction between CCP and players is wonderful, and I can only wish more of it.
Good job. _______________________________________________

I like the line on cloacking : "they will not affect the rest of the world" ... Keeps it balanced. It will give a whole new edge to bounty hunterz :)

Cloaking as an idea sounds cool but it ends up creating balance issues in every game that I've played. I don't think it should be put in game.
Taking the list out of local would be a great idea. Make a sensor skill usefull that will give a player the ability to see what PC objects are in a system.

Hmm, not if its properly tested, cloaking could require massive amounts of energy, or then again, there could be a counter, or then again, it could be unstable to a certain degree, or then again it could destabilize massively in the proximity of Large gravity wells such as jumpgates and stations....
The possibilities are infinite, cloaking could add more balance actually by ensuring that blockading of an entire sector of space is never goign to be 100% enemyproof .

Well, I've played in other massive space games where combat in general was better balanced than EVE and even they had a verry hard time balancing cloaking.
I think the fact that CCP is still working on balancing issues this far into release, balancing issues on weapons that have been in game for awhile etc., that I'd much rather have them wait before they add such a huge dynamic to the game.

If cloaking is to be brought into the game the penalties for using it such be even more severe than the ones we currently face for MWD - Cloaking will ruin the game, imho.

Edited by: Andrew Gunn on 31/07/2003 20:55:46 If you ask me cloaking should only be viable for cruiser class ships, i.e. frigates don't have enough power and battleships are too large to cloak. Also, IMHO cloaking should be setup so that it's largely for recon and scouting, rather than a cloaked cruiser setup for battle. I like the idea of not being able to use the cloak near a gravity field, such as the fake ones stargates and stations put off for navigation. There should also be a counter-messure but make it a random chance that they would detect the cloaked ship, maybe make it skill based. i.e. cloaked ship has his cloaking skill at lvl 2 and the dector ship has his counter-messure skill at lvl 4 giving him a much better chance of seeing the cloaked ship then if the cloaked ship had a higher skill level.

I found specially entertaining the small jokes about the players that petitioned / asked for items they lost due to bugs. _______________________________________________

Hrm did I see a possible boost for charisma? You mean after almost 3 months they might actually put in the diplomatic/trade/leadership skills?
Love the time frame....in the future....

Being able to right click a chat tab and invite someone to it is also out...didn't know if someone has already mentioned that.

In less than one month's time I'll have trained every skill devoted to Charisma up to level 5, this is also after not training them for the first month of the game and also training other related skill groups, i.e. Navigation, Engineering, etc.
I can't see why it is so hard just to put the Trade, Diplomacy and Leadership skills on the market to buy and start training now ? Even though they are not implemented.

Attendance is by invite only. The delegates (i.e. player representatives) get a 6 week slot, with a meeting each week. After 6 weeks a new set of delegates is picked.
As far as I can tell, CCP tend to pick individuals who are proactive in making game balancing/ bug suggestions (even if negative) in a rational and constructive way (rather than the "fix it NOW..." type of posts). If you fall in that category you're in with as much chance as the rest of us
In TomB 's defence (re skill email) he had only just got back from vacation at the time
