Magnum III

I noticed everyone is being really nice and understanding to new and old people when they are bummed out in the game and come to look for a shoulder to cry on at the Forums.
This is Very cool compassion to people complaining in my opinion that is good for the game in general.
It is much better then just strait telling some one their wrong and stupid for thinking something bad about the game.
You guys are really being understanding you all seem to be putting your selves in their shoes.
And IĈm sure when some one comes here to complain about something, they are just having a temporary bad time for what ever reason and really appreciate it when people act nice to them about it.
It really makes me proud to be a part of this community, thanks.

Must be a good day today, then. Most of the time, it's just pure flameage to those who have a complaint - which is a really sad state of affairs. There's a tendency to try to silence the dissident (i.e. anyone who has a problem with the way things are) in society, usually without any pretext of civility. :P -Wrayeth

Excellent post :)
I actually like this forum. It's fun to witness compassion in these impressive magnitudes, although I'm not among the most understanding and helpful people here :D (I don't post a whole lot)
For people not getting the sarcasm: Yeah, of course it would have been better with a nice and friendly community. I can only advise people to join a corp with some serious and helpful people in it. Everyone else, sit back and try to enjoy the show :) |

To me what makes Eve so much more special than all the cookie cutter MMOG's is the sense of family/community. No matter how much I dissagree with someones ingame politics, I'll take them over some magic casting farry.

Also you will need to note that the forum is a controlled media. Very hard to see bad things here ;)

You do get the sense that people appreciate what CCP are doing for them. As a result you dont get any of those purile "The devs cant do anything right, so obviously I know better" posts. (Its normally "They changed something that affects me adversly so if I scream loud enough they may change it back").
I remember the RA2 boards back in the day... a great comunity... but so, so imature it hurt.

if you think this community is bad, look at world of warcraft or guild wars.

EVE's greatest asset is it's community. And then scamming/griefing/murdering said community. Ftw.
It's the essence of EVE; stepping on other people to get ahead, and stepping hard. ---

One of the good things about the community is the maturity level.
Those with genuine issues and complaints will be heard and helped. Those who are being a general twit will be flamed with much enthusiam.
The level and creativity of the sarcasm in the forums is a treat to read.
Nothing improves the day like a good dose of creative sarcasm and coffee.

We'll allow most anything to be on the forums as long s it is constructive. Poeple ranting and flaming, smacking and trolling doesn't help the community. So as long as you post civily and constructively then there is never the need to moderate
