You know I always viewed the ship-spinning thing as more of a symbol, representative of the greater issues withthe game, but the fact is, having a proper view of my ship just makes me feel a hell of a lot more... there.
Keep working on it, CCP. I want to go back to just being a "veteran", instead of a "bitter vet".

I don't mean a local copy, i mean storing fittings locally and not on the server. Either as an option, or as the default setting again.
Before that new "feature", we could have infinite fittings on our fitting window. Now we are limited to 50 and most of the people i've seen are not happy with that. It's like a health insurance company that decides to change the contract and say "Ok you no longer have access to as many examinations as you need, but at least you can have them all over the world instead of in just one country so its a big big improvement for your service!!!!"
They have a "corporation" tab so why not a "local client" tab. That is not a technical impossibility but rather a bad design decision.

Thanks CCP. Spinning ships is actually a great addition to CQ, as it turns out. Captain's Quarters wasn't really the worst thing in the world, but this game is all about the ships. So in CQ I would walk my toon to the balcony so I could look at my ship. I bet most players did the same cause it looked really cool.
For me, you guys made the game "cool" again. |

Why is everybody going on about the 'new' shipspinning? From what I can tell, it's the old ship spinning with a few minor bugs probably related to the removal of session change timers.
Maybe it's just me not having spun a ship in a while and being a drunk, but I don't notice anything new about it (which is good).

Specifically: If we have multiple characters on the one account, we can (if we so choose) have one that logs in to the CQ, and another that logs in to the glories of ship spinning?

This enables you to run 2 clients with different settings. Which can be used for different characters or different accounts. You don't have to have 2 separate installs either. Probably the best choice until they have settings per character. |

Takes three months to give these plebs their time wasting service back and as an added bonus we now have a new tab layout workaround. Awesome, I can now dock / undock in 5 seconds, then spend 20 seconds repositioning windows that I forgot to minimize.
How's WIS coming along, easier to give spinning back than introduce the whole reason CQ's were implemented in the first place? How much did this buggy version of ship spinning set that back? |

I agree - I was telling myself I was fine with the door, but only after it was reintroduced I realized it was the only occasion I actually saw my ships (usually all zoomed out with tactical overlay on whilst in space).
Currently just logged in with two clients, watching my ships 'breathe' on 2 screens - it's been a while since I've been that active...

I take back what I said. There is still a problem, I guess because CCP are geniuses when it comes to UI design.
If I had "load station enviroment" ticked, and log in, I start at captains quarters. This is NOT what I want. I want to start in ship hangar and then be able to click button to enter captains quarters at will. Why is this so blooming hard to implement?
The problem is that I launch multiple instances of Eve in order to dualbox, and my computer can't handle more than one captains quarters at a time. I like captains quarters but only use it if Im using one account.
Now in order to get the best of both worlds, I have to keep the CQ box unticked, then if I want to go to CQ, press esc, find correct tab, tick it, undock, dock, press enter CQ. Instead of just being able to press a button while being docked. Again, if I want to dualbox, I need to do the same in reverse order. The big problem stems from the fact that my client remembers which setting I have and therefore uses the same setting whenever I start a second instance of Eve.
See what I said about being UI geniuses? The button was a step in right direction, but CCP cannot arrive to the correct conclusion until they have exhausted all other possibilities at first. And spending months doing it. |

Ship spinning looks great and it really improves performance when docking/undocking, but i just thought about it and realised i had noot noticed somethign that used to be there, where's the search lights that used to sweep back and forth across the hull? I might have just missed it but i'm prettty sure i didn't see them last night, i'll have to check again tonight. |

I had similar issues.
But it was solved with clicking reset window postions and then moving them to where I wanted 'em.
