Got some pesky idiot logging out of a battle to save his precious ship? Does it make you a little annoyed? Does this incredible display of cowardice make you want to post warn everyone else about this lamer? Well, post their name here and what system it occurred in! No flames, please. Thanks!

Screw loggers.
Add an exploit to that then get told by the GM's it logs show nothing bla bla
And this was a FREIGHTER in 0.0 unescourted. I'm telling the world when the GM's finally reach their conclusion

I must admit that i have only logged once, ONCE in my entire EVE career to save my ship. I was omw back to empire from 0.0 when i ran into a gatecamp, and quickly warped away to a moon. I told the campers in local that i was willing to pay a ransom fee for safe passage. They informed me that they "dont do ransoms" and would rather blow up my shuttle and pod me. This pished me off beyond belief so i logged to go get a beer and calm down. Why the hell would anyone trade in a few million easy isk for a caldari shuttle kill-mail?!?!?? ok, im done venting.....for now -----------------------------------

He may be new, but that's the risk you take in 0.4. CONCORD even gives you a warning! If he had just payed or at least been willing to negotiate somehow, then he would have kept both his ship and his honor. By logging out in battle, he lost both. Smart? No. Lame? Yes. There is no excuse for such behavior. It is incredibly cowardly, and proves that you would rather be scorned by all than suffer a small loss which could have been avoided simply by paying a ransom, allowing you to keep your honor and possessions intact. _________________________________________ 2005.01.17 22:04:22 combat Chackle [PUSY] perfectly runs from you, wrecking for 1500 cowardice. |

Thats how some people say "I dont want to pay you"
If he had said that to you, the same thing woud have happen to him, he woud have lost hes ship too.
Shoud i make a list too whit guys who just stay docked all the time? or a list whit guys who only logg on when you are offline ? or a list whit pirates who bail if they see more then 2 bs's `?
And who said that the guy logged of to avoid loosing hes ship?
eve is a very bugged game. Most of us have tryed to crash in situations were you dont want to crash. and if you havnt, its just a Q of time before you will.

eh, with my connection i get dropped every thirty minutes anyway. what would be the point of shaming them unless you were really bored. last time i got jumped in avaux, eve did the restart thing. next thing you know, i was in my pod.........wonder if he even knew you were there.
in fact, sometimes when my corp mates warp into a belt im mining, eve resets.

Logging during fights doesnt work anymore.
I always get really hungry when people blob me for some reason and need to go eat though.

We've been told it doesnt work many times in the past only to see ships disapear while scrambled within 30 seconds of the character disapearing from local. I won't name specific people but it has been super common in the past ammong our enemies in supposedly elite corps or alliances. Pathetic. ----------------------------------------------

I once got booted during combat. :( I was owning a guy's dom in my scorp and computer shat on me.
But I agree. I'll camp a system with someone who logged just to see them die. :) (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Bunny. Copy Bunny into your signature to help him on his way to world |

Logging only works against impatient agressors. Either that, or you'll have to take a day off from Eve.

Of the last 4 people to log off during combat 3 were killed and podded. Yay for the new aggression timer & scan probes.

If the guy logs before you get to put the timer on him, then you can't do nothing. For example, a hauler jumps in and sees a camp. His best bet is to log since there is NO way in hell he'll get the agression timer if he logs before he decloaks.
So, if he manages to warp off from the logoff you can't get him with brobes even if you landed a couple of shots and scramblers on him.

Yeah but when u get kicked due to connection Etc...your ship will disappear during a fight (even though warp scrambled) . But when u just close eve..your ship stays in space for some time.
My question....HOW does eve know someone logs off, or CTD'd?

I understand there are bugs. I also understand that no one put a gun to your head and made you post a useless flame. The guy didn't disappear as soon as I scrambled him. He disappeared right after I said "3mill for your ship."
Your sarcasm in the middle of your post is also incredibly unwarranted. If you don't like the thread, then don't post. It's as simple as that.
And to Logan Xerxes, you, sir, are simply acting extremely immature. As stated previously, if you don't like the thread, you don't have to post. End of story. _________________________________________ 2005.01.17 22:04:22 combat Chackle [PUSY] perfectly runs from you, wrecking for 1500 cowardice. |

lol, whats really interesting bout his useless post is the fact that some people actually think they are tough, attacking, ransoming, destroying a defenceless miner ship, then running like a scared rabbit when someone actually comes back in a warship to deal with them, or better yet, will flee to the nearest station and sit there.
what concord really needs todo is ban all pirates from secure space. least then you can justify what you do :P -Baby can you dig your man- |

I think logging off is totally acceptable. If you wish to save your ship like that, do it. Better than having to listen to pirate smack-talk. And since many pirates attack newbie players "just for fun", shoot down shuttles "just for fun", I'll log "just for fun".
But this topic is pointless. Discussions about this range from Beta to today. As well as the discussions about the extent of lameness that attacking a newb miner has. Some say its his fault (he was in the wrong place after all), some claim its lame. Its the same with logging. If it disturbs you, add the char to your KOS list but don't go on ranting in the forums.

In my opinion ships shouldn't disappear at all in space under any circumstance. I mean what's the logic behind having twenty hostiles invade your space, pinning them down to a single system, camping it and then have them disappear with no way to be found. The only safe place should be in a 0.5+ system or in a station. Not in midcombat, not in 0.0 and especially not in our goddamn alliance capital.
