In the Origins trailer it was mentioned that the empire factions are losing their power and there was some hints that we'll one day (not that Fan-fest is a reliable source for future features) be able to craft/(destroy?) star gates.
Soooooo does this mean that they're going to try and diminish/out-right remove High Sec NPC Factions? If so, I have to say I'm somewhat disheartened  the thought of it is a little sad to say the least. I'm not saying that I'm adverse to the idea, but it definitely would be a shame. |

The Empire's power, lore wise, has been diminishing ever since capsuleers came about. That's basically what the trailer was referring too.
They're not going to remove the Empire factions though, that would be a disastrous change if not suicidal.

I'm not sure what CCP really has a strong grasp of what they mean by the whole "Imagine a future where players are doing the things the empires are doing".
Does that mean we can build out own NPC "police" and "CONCORD" to create our own high sec's? Or, we take sov of a high sec system, and pay rent that goes to fund "the navy and CONCORD"?
Or smaller, like remove the NPC stations to be replaced by high sec corp outposts? Charge the station owners fees used to fund the navy and CONCORD?
Are the stargaes we can build, like super jump bridges? Lead to brand new solar systems? Who knows?
They're just tossing out crumbs at this point, to keep us interested in the future, as the info on Odyssey is fleshed out.

It's quite obviousl what is going to happen. The capsuleer infested militia becomes too powerful and takes over. No faction can fight off such an absurd amount of cloaky stabbed faction frigates

The empires are losing power compared to US. They're hampered by a duty of care to their untold billions of people, and shackled to planets and gravity wells.
Capsuleers like us are bound to nobody. We flit from system to system, station to station, interacting with empire economies only long enough to be taxed and have blueprints and skillbooks sold to us. With the rise of nullsec factions and even highsec dwellers getting antsy (Jita protests, Burn Jita, Gallente Ice interdiction, etc.), they're getting scared.
Even by banning the reprocessing of drone alloys, they failed to make much impact.

People like me need some where to have fun warring and exploring in New Eden too. As sweet as she looked closing her eyes and trying to will the audience to share her vision I found it difficult not to cringe. I donGÇÖt mind new toys in null. Just not at the expense of devaluing everyone elsesGÇÖ play. |

You're saying that the race will be a blend of all four in name, but only feature the primary colours of the gallente (green) and minmatar (brown) ? GTFO. Only Cal(dari) is capitalized, and starts the title, thus, supreme Caldari overlords will obviously be in charge, and the flag will be Blue.

One thing that might be cool is getting the NPC's to "fight back" against the capsuleer empires. put an old RTS AI in charge of each faction, it starts deploying miners, building ships/fleets, and declaring outright war on the nullsec factions.
now lets say CF/HBC start becoming a serious threat, so much that caldari or gallente stand the risk of ebing overthrown, well then of course you have the same scenario presented in EVERY rts game ever made, NPC factions decide they want you dead more than eachother, and team up for one huge FU attack  |

Though, it would be kind of nice to see the factions falter a little bit -- kind of like what (someone) posted as an idea for FW.
1. starts as it is now
2. faction 1 takes over a bit, faction 2's nearby hisec systems start dropping sec (no timeline, say a point a day?)
3. when they hit 0.4, they drop out to new FW systems.
4. to keep it so that a faction isn't wiped off the map define one "home" region that can't be conquered (or something like that)
conversely, as conquered systems get farther from the front lines, they increase in sec status (to a max of IDK, 0.6 or 7?)

Something like this I would love to see happen. I fail to undertsand the actual mechanic of the sovereignity as long as it's still a FFA space. I mean, what's the point in holding a space for me and my alliance since this space is still open for everyone, friend or foe can still come in and travel trough like a boss.
A castle system where my space have gates contolled by my alliance, npc guards (read player alliance controlled Concord) that secure this space is much more logical. That way people will feel more secure and proud of their homeland and they will do everyting to defend it and also constantly improve it by building more and more stuff and also monuments. With such a mechanic you have to be completely idiot to keep living in the hi sec space and not join one of the sov holding alliances. Actually hi sec would completely die and the war for supremacy and conquest would flourish. If this is CCP new vision about the future I can only applaud! |

You are all wrong.. the new race will be the WINmatar.. as they are obviously far superior to everyone else and will wtfbbq all other factions including the joves and the null sec alliances, turning all of new eden into high security space, unless you're not a member of the WINmatar faction, in that case, you're automagicly considered an outlaw, cannot dock, and cannot use stargates. Nor will you be allowed to use your medical or jump clones.

I think we should change that slightly, and lets say the jove fail.. and they turn into space zombies with cloning capability! |

This could very well mean that capsuleers will be entering into war directly with some empire powers, or enter into formal alliances with them as equals.
This process would likely start with the capsuleer infested Empire Militias, and involve actual changes in Sov in Faction Warfare area's.
Pirate factions would not cease to exist, but would be handled the same as the other major Empires.
Some capsuleers would pledge loyalties to one group or another, either as citizens or as combatants. Other capsuleers would strive to create new capsuleer governed power blocks in opposition to all (or most) contemporary empire powers.
To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors.
If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

Sadly, I keep trying to scam the empire, and take the IHUBs in FW space for my alliance instead of just cal mil... thus far they have been dastardly in finding out my trixyness and each time I failed....
