(Sorry for the blank topic - hit return by mistake)
I recently obtained a Level 3 agent.
He started off by selling me 25 slaves every 12 hours. The average price of the slaves he sold me was 350 per slave which meant I make a 100% profit selling them at what seems to be the going rate market rate of approx 720 isk per slave.
Anyway, I have a few questions relating to agents and the slave trade...
1) After completing about 20 missions with this guy I noticed that he is now selling me 26 slaves.
Can anyone confirm that this was not just an anomaly and that increasing your standing with the agent actually does prompt them to sell you more slaces? Also can anyone tell me what is the maximum number of slaves their agent is selling them in one batch - is 26 good or bad? Does bribing the agent get him to sell you more slaves?
2) I also have a Level 2 agent who has 'Minor slave trader' in his agent info. I only got him after I started working with the level 3 agent. However, when I have travelled to this level 2 agent's station I find that he won't sell me slaves. Can anyone let me know whether you can only have one agent actively selling you slaves at any one time - or is it possible to have many agents selling me slaves if I get the right agants.
3) As mentioned I discovered that my level 3 slave selling agent will sell me slaves approximately every 12 hours. However, I am often in different stations and going back to buy 25 slaves (even with an 8.5k profit on each batch) is time consuming. Does anyone know if there is anyway I can get my agent to automatically sell me slaves whenever they are available and dump them in my hanger at the station? Then when I have a reasonable number I can go back and sell 'em.
Thanks for your help. If you have any other slave trade & agents related tips then I would be happy to hear 'em.
Sorry if this thread upsets Minmatar players in anyway!

Oh yes... almost forgot...
4) Are there any serious drawbacks to dealing in slaves from agents(apart from the chance of being intercepted by Oracle (no offence Oracle ) or some other tree hugging player corp and being forced to release them).
I have noticed that my faction rating with the Minmatar republic has dropped. I am not sure this is a consequence of selling slaves (even tho I am dealing in relatively low numbers).
How low does it have to go b4 jumping into Minmatar space could be a risky thing for me with the local npc Minmatar navy/police.
Are their other drawbacsk of buy slaves off agents?

Ahh, another Ammar Slave trader.
Just hope you dont meet me in low sec space anywhere.

Why pod me...I am only in it for the money...just like any businessman.
...and anyway I am very humane to my Minmatar slaves. I ensure they are all provided with water twice a day, some wholemeal bread once a day, have one loo for every 100 and at least 3 sq ft of personal space in my cargohold...
FFS just how generous can I be?
Seriously though if any experiences slave traders could answer the questions above would be very helpful.
No need for anymore Minmatar flamers please...I am only doing my job!

Are we all sure slaves are actually Minmatar ?
I have at least two Agents who sell slaves, both are Minmatar and neither are Amatar either.
Also, in response to one of your original questions, only one of the Agents will sell me slaves, the other one doesn't even give the option (although it appears in the info).

Hmmm... This got me thinking. Allthough I don't trade slaves (if I did I'd at least throw them some quafe once in a while), but sometimes I do agent missions that require me to rescue some kidnapped person. The cargo is always 1 Slave. So, would a corp like Oracle, in their right minds, attempt to pod me if they saw me carrying a kidnapped damsel in distress that wrongly comes up as a slave?
What a dilema that would be.

Tharrn you ***** me up. Anyway, we do not pod Amarr slave traders. Just free the cargo or lose your ship. However we may pod any Minmatar we find hauling slaves, as they would be the lowest form of life.

You should be trading in jewellery and cigars, Jimmy, not slaves.

Jimmy - are ur agents level 2 or 3?
The one that sells me slaves is level 3 - the junior agents say they sell slaves but they don't!
Just a thought!

Hmmm I thought that you could only get slaves off agents that really loved you... thus there was some kind of requirement based off standing. However not being a slave trader I may be wrong.

Edited by: Pinkoir on 03/08/2003 18:38:51 I have a Level One Sebiestor Agent working for a Minmatar Corp who is always asking me to sell slaves for him. I never accept his strange offer (As a Caldari I am against these things and I seem to be Gallente at heart so that's even worse). Maybe he is trying to trick me? It seems odd for a sebiestor to sell slaves. Maybe I should report him to Oracle Corp...he's a terrible agent anyways (-18%).
This thing with the rescued slaves worries me though...Oracle, do you have a set policy on this? I'd hate to be destroyed for saving some poor slave's life.

Yes, we have a policy. If we find slaves in your cargohold we will politly ask for you to jettison them into space where we will take them to freedom. You at this point will be allowed to go on your merry way. If you would rather keep your slave cargo, then we will use force to free our brothers and sisters. You will then be allowed to go on your merry way in your pod.

But what if we are trying to re-unite the slave with their family...how does it benefit them to be dumped without even cab-fare :(
Weep for the poor captured slaves liberated at last from their long servitude only to be cast into the depths of space :(
(Not that I've ever gotten that mission...still there is a principle at stake here)

The exact faction effect looks to be different for each agent or each agent of a certain faction (not sure on this). I have only 1 agent, a Serpentis one that offers 7 slaves at a time, though for some reason the price keeps rising each time even if none were bought last time. Interestingly if I buy from this agent faction rating with the Amarr Empire drops (quite a bit actually) and faction rating with the Minmatar Republic rises. Since the slave quantities were so small and the profits to be had were really small change and because the faction fluctuations were so big, the slave trade doesn't look very profitable for the cost. |

Well obviously no one (including me) really has a clue how the Agent system works and what determines their decisions about when you get new ones, the quality of the ones you are referred to, why some agents will sell you x amount of slaves and others will sell you y. How all this interrelates to faction standing etc. ATM it all seems just too random!
DEVELOPERS - it would be really nice if we could have some kind of clarification and details about how the agent system works...
Cheers

Edited by: JimmySav on 04/08/2003 14:31:52 My agents with slaves on offer (allegedly) are 1 lvl1 and one lvl2. the level 1 is bugged due to non loot drop pirates a while back, and so is out of action, the lvl2 one just doesnt offer me slaves....
shes decent decent fair - in the relations stakes and have done about 20 missions for her so far......
I hope to start trading soon, as the slaves are getting cold waiting for me apparently... Jim'll Fix it For You. ( and you and you!)

Can I just ask a silly question please?
How do Oracle 'free' the slaves?
Do they free them in the same way the slave traders do by any chance? ------------------------------------------------------------

If you think we sell them then you're sadly mistaken. Seeing as there is no in-game method of freeing slaves without destroying them or putting them back on the market then you have to rely on that little thing called "imagination".
Though putting them back on the market, if only for a short while, sometimes has it's advantages. They always seem to find their way back home.

Biomass... Biomass...
Unfortunately, even running Former Slaves down the Superhighway to Freedom gives you a nasty faction hit towards the Minmater and Gallente Empires. Really, it should have been the Amarr Empire giving me a faction hit for liberating them. (I just jettisoned them right outside the Pator School Station.) Luckily for them, they were picked up right away (by the Station personel I was assured).
(If VIPs are listing Game Designers in their descriptions, then Slaves should have Gamers listed in them). ---------------- Your mother was a hampster and your father smelled of elderberries. |
