Edited by: Jenny Spitfire on 28/09/2005 09:10:47 Hi. I dont have the luxury of flying an armageddon and hence at times, when nobody is online, I would like to do some once in a blue moon mining. Any idea on how to setup this ship for mining and at the same time tanking NPC 0.0 spawns?
Basically, I am asking is any mirror setup (dont have to be exact but close enough will do) to the armageddon for this ship?
Thanks.
PS: I am evaluating at the moment before committing in buying a ship when I get the ISKs for it. Thanks.

Uhh...
Mining in a scorp?
You do realise you can only get 4 Miner IIs on it, thereby making it a bit of a waste?
Far better to get a mate to tank for you and take an Osprey out, its the best Caldari mining ship out of all of them.
Off the top of my head though...
4 Miner IIs 2 whatever
4 Cap Rechargers 4 whatever!
1 Large Rep 3 Hardeners
Pick a weak spawn and tank away.
Of course, you could do an uber passive shield tanking setup instead which would probably work.

Yea, Osprey is nice but one girl cant fly 2 ships at the same time ;(
Need a versatile ship for combat as well as off-time mining.

You should never 50/50 a ship setup, waste of time.... But let me know when you're hitting the belts in your mining laser scorp, i'll come and keep you company in GW =P

An osprey ninja mining is better. Just go clear the belt with your scorp, take your osprey out and align, mine til a spawn comes, etc. Back in Syndicate I once had a belt left empty of NPCs for like 4 hours while I filled a couple cans with my Osprey :P

Edited by: Jezala on 28/09/2005 16:22:47 You'll need 3 ships to do the job properly.
1 hauler 1 Osprey - with 1 warp core stab. 1 Scorp - with at least 1 remote armor rep.
Make a safespot where you can park your ships. Use the scorp to clear out the belts of any rats. Mine with the Osprey for about 10-15 mins until the rats start to arrive. Warp out to your safespot, pick up the scorp, kill the pests. Return to the SS for the Osprey and continue mining. Rinse and repeat.
The time wasted killing the rats with the scorp is easily made up by the Osprey's mining bonuses.

Thanks for the reply. Any better setup in an Osprey for 0.0 mining other than the ones in
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=190629
Those setups there do not look good or convincing though. I mean Osprey is rather fragile for 0.0 solo mining.
Thanks again. <3

you would probably make more money over time training to fly an apoc and mining in that than you would if you mined ina scorp for the entire time u spent training to fly the apoc... in other words some ships just arn't that versatile

This question raised another one, should you really be allowed in a belt?

When you do this, would you please let me know where so I can get my covert ops? --Victory needs no explanation, defeat allows none.-- |
