Daily downtime. Every day at 12pm GMT, which is 7am EST I believe. Lasts up to 1 hour (sometimes server is back up a little early).

Edited by: Octavius Omega on 28/09/2005 11:33:40 During Daylight Savings Time (DST), Servers are down @ 07:00AM EDT daily. In standard time, it goes down at 06:00AM EST daily. EVE time is EST +5 and EDT +4. Sometimes the servers go down for 10-20, sometimes they take the entire hour of downtime.
So, get ready to go to be an hour earlier when DST ends
Edit: changed GMT to EVE time

Edited by: DaBagboy Rizster on 28/09/2005 11:30:38 Thanks for the DST update, but still then at 7:15a EST (6:30a DST) isn't -5:00 to GMT 1:15:a GMT? and the servers is supposed to be down 11:00p - 12:00a GMT?
Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I thought the server would be down at 4:00a EST and 5:00a w/ DST

Edited by: Octavius Omega on 28/09/2005 11:34:50 EVE time is ahead of us East Coasters. So it is our time +4 to get the correct EVE time. Once we are back in EST you will need to +5 to get EVE time.
Edit: Changed GMT to EVE time

Game time is always GMT, the UK is currently running on BST which is GMT+1. -- We are the Octavian Vanguard www.octavianvanguard.net

otoh we australians tear our hair out with every downtime that lasts >30min, since it's smack in our prime-time mid-evening. Wonder why Eve isn't all that big with antipodeans ...
Have ccp ever satisfactorily explained exactly why some dt takes 15 mins and sometimes 90? I mean in terms for people who design large client/server systems e.g. me. Not even the fat slug that is Windows 2003 Server takes that long to reboot. Maybe they take a backup. Maybe they like to fiddle, but apparently stackless python allows online hotfixes, so it can't be that.
Maybe they just don't like Australian dollars...

Singularity should be down for an extended downtime, but it's up. Tranquility should be up, but it's down.
Guess someone got the servers confused.

Actually our exchange server (win2k3) in work has a 17minute shutdown time, let alone a complete reboot. We had to upgrade the UPS specifically for it.
