First let me say this "I am not currently looking to be recruited atm!!"
With the new mining and industry changes coming our way in June, I have been trying to figure out what my options for the future are in Eve.
As it stands I opperate 5 accounts, 4 hulk pilots and a full boost orca pilot (who can now fly and fit (I think) an rorqual). By June all 4 hulk pilots will we able to use all t2 crystals, shield tank as well as a hulk can, and have fairly decent drone skills.
Atm I run my own hi sec pos for research, I dont mine ICE as I PI on 4 toons and make more than enough isk on it to fuel the POS. Most of my time is taken up by mining, inventing T2 cruisers and transport ships and building carriers from BPOs in nearby low sec. 4 of my toons I are able to build anything up to cap ships
I have 1 toon who is theoretically a combat pilot who can fly and fit tengu and falcon but with hardly any experience in pvp.
so do I ......
a) remain in hi sec and carry on as normal (which is a little boring at times)
or
b) try and figure out if null sec is the place to be?
Is it possible to opperate 5 toons in a null enviroment??? I dont use a multi box program, just run 5 sessions on the same pc so I switch between screens all the time. This would be my biggest issue from where I stand as Im almost certain to loose a few hulks with the new "easy scan" options headed our way :)

Well not much is really going to change imo. There will be some tears but then some adapting and the market will adjust for empire.
As far as null sec, yes you can do what you suggest. I run three accounts doing that.
Null is a different beast all together though. You should be ready for conflict, more conflict...and general pains in the rear. However, the only reason I'm in null is because I basically did everything you can do in empire and got bored really fast. Sure I can make isk, sure it's easy, but it's boring. I'd say give it a try for a bit. If you have a good corp you'll get a good experience...or might not lose all your stuff :p Maximze your Industry Potential! - Get EVE Isk per Hour! |

Yeah, making money is very easy in empire, just a little boring at times :)
I had a brief go at null but it was more a solo kind of corp structure where nobody really helped anyone out. I guess thats where finding a good corp comes in |

Seems like you already know the answer.
If you are bored, then you should try something different.
I'm personally gonna wait and see what happens before I decide. I have a standing offer from a nulsec entity (who will probably need people like me even more), but I'd be giving up a lot, both literally and figuratively. |

The only change I'm facing in my setup is moving 2 Mackinaws 9 jumps away to use occasionally to Ice Mine, as the nearby belt is going away.
Beyond that I'm just going to carry on as usual unless some weird lucrative opportunity exposes itself with the changes that nobody has foreseen.
Edit: In other words, I'm not going to rip up and replace 29 Low Sec PI Planets elsewhere unless I really really have to. There is much to be said in favour of modern journalism. Im probably gonna just stay in hi sec and deal with all the adjustments.
Ive tried null and it just sucks for a player like myself.
Yes it does look like I can make a ton of isk there but it needs so much other things just to sell something. Logistics being the major issue. It seems like a hurry up and wait thing. And stockpiling. Mining ops were promised daily, turned into weekly, then monthly then none at all. Thats just one of the problems I ran into. I found myself ratting to make isk and that didnt sit well with me. Its not how I like to play. I enjoy mining and i set up my accounts to do so. So hi sec it is for me. I never mined ice anyway, wont start now.
So unless the corp/alliance runs like a well oiled machine. Most of my money making items just sit in hangers until the next time someone jumps it somewhere. Whenever the hell that is.
No thanks. Unless that corp/alliance is top notch with logistics, its not worth it for a player like myself.
In my humble opinion of course, |

In my humble opinion of course, I always had this problem early on and it never really got any better. Every now and again I'd find someone that was overly nice and jump stuff but you just have to buckle down and train jump capable ships (rorq mainly) to move your own stuff. That is really the best solution because good people/corps/alliances will come and go. Maximze your Industry Potential! - Get EVE Isk per Hour! |

Yep I figured that was my only option. Which means more skill books to buy, more training and more isk I need to get started. I'm also not familiar with what it takes to move that stuff around. I'm still reading up on it all.
So its best that I stay in high sec until I am. Because once in Null nobody wanted to hold no ones hand. Which i understand, so Im not gonna put myself in that position anymore. |

I suggest looking for an entity with an ore buying program. You mine, you sell the ore to them at a price that incorporates the logistics expenses and any taxes, they deal with all that stuff.
A proper nullbear corp should have: 1) A corp office where they are located so you can deathclone out there 2) Mining ships on contract ready to go 3) Ore buying program
Optional: 4) Boost fleet in the mining system you can join as needed
Costs you the price of the new ships + clones, and your good to go, no need to worry about logistics, or training to jump your own gear. Your entire exposure is the cost of the ships you buy out there. Long run, you may want to train a character to move your ships, but its expensive, and not really needed.
Re: Combat, you probably want a renter or pet group, you don't get as much for your ore, but don't need to worry about being made to fight. |

Also its about finding the right corp. Big red flag when the recruiter starts talking about what they are going to do, or want to do, instead of what they are currently doing. |
