From what I understand is that neither were you anymore when the Federation moved in, weren't you guys in Stain Empire at the time?
I wasn't around at the time Huzzah was formed so a bit of history would be good.

When I joined the Alliance in Feb, the resident pirate faction were Legion. TSBS moved in a couple of months later.

Being there from the start, I can say, for certain that TSBS were not there. Legi0n, fr33ks and the xators were. Those corps were members of the Soul Cartel, which CVA had uncermoniously removed about a week before we were going too.
The Priory existed as an alt corp at that point. It wasn't until about 2-3 months later when we had our first serios war, when legi0n left for Force Of Evil, that The Priory became a larger organisation. The Short Bus Squad returned later.
As for who owned the space first, The Priory didn't, and neither did TSBS. Soul Cartel ewre the earliest occupiers I know of, and they had left before we moved in. What matters is who owns this space. And Huzzah Federation has owned our little part of Providence for about a year. It's ours now, and by god, we aren't planning to move. ++++++++++++++++++++ Founder member of the Huzzah Federation. I gotta ask - are the TSBS and Priory pleased or annoyed at the fact that UNITY have jumped in on your fight against us?

Interesting turn up for the books, 'anti-pirate' Ushra'Khan have joined forces with TSBS and Priory. Does this mean they are now a Pirate Faction?

HAH! This shows your utter misunderstanding slaver lover.
Why dont you go down to Ammamake and Molden Heath and ask the people there what we did to the pirates.
Now crawl back in your hole you wretch. -

So you are only 'anti-pirate' in a regional sense. You are happy to work with Pirates outside of Ammamake and Molden Heath.

Please keep it civil in here and I don't know where the idea of Huzzah being slavers comes from as we believe in the principles of freedom for all, including neutrals to pass through our space without having to have that freedom taken away by pirates. Slavery is the opposite viewpoint to that so it just doesn't add up to hold both freedom and slavery as cherished ideals and notice we have former slaves as pilots in our Federation.

That analogy is stretched to the extreme, so what I gather is you had the area of space, went to join Stain, CVA came in moved your local allies out and Huzzah formed up shortly after in the space lower down along the corridor. So why wait all this time to reassert yourselves as this is the first time I've seen that TSBS is coming back to claim space that was once theirs. Space ownership comes and goes am sure that if everyone looks around their territory they will find some ancient giant secure can and think WTF, these guys were once here?!?!?!
Anyway it makes the whole thing more interesting, very cool.

Actually Soul Cartel kind of imploded, after ruling the area through fear, domination and large pieces of stilton strung from the gates like tampons. We had an uneasy peace with CVA until they stabbed us in the back. Legion went off to pastures new up in FoE, but never forgot. Some of us are back. The space has always been ours, even if at times we arent interested in who occupies it.

Just to clarify the history:
Before the CVA became interested in bringing law and order and prosperity to the Providence region and the low sec area just above it (Kheram, Valmu, Misaba, Gemodi etc.) the area was controlled by the Soul Cartel grouping who (at least from our perspective) were nothing more than pirates.
The area was desolate and rarely used by many 'neutral' pilots due to the high risk of being ganked. The principle corps in the area at the time were The Short Bus Squad, Hooligans of War, The Priory & Fr33ks. Several of these corporations formed a loose coalition that was called Soul Cartel. Soul Cartel was 'neutral' to Curse and hostile to Stain.
Not all of the corps mentioned above were members of Soul Cartel and not all were friendly to each other but my memeory fails at this point.
The CVA (and some other friendly corporations) decided that it was time to restore Amarrian order to the region and open the region to trade once again
Before we undertook this adventure we consulted with neighbouring alliances (particularly Stain) to ensure that things went smoothly.
Our arrival coincided with the main power in the region TSBS coming under pressure from Stain. Literally within a cople of weeks of our arrival they actually left and joined Stain and were now neutral to us.
Meanwhile we agreed a 'peace' agreement with Legion that we would not shoot each other as long as they agreed to stop pirating in the area.
That left Hooligans of War as the main obstacle to peace in the region. The CVA (and friends) laid a gigantic amount of smackdown on HoW. This culminated in CVA destroying 7 HoW/Fr33k Battleships in an even engagement in R3 one night.
Fr33ks decided to leave the area and we agreed a peace with them based on an agreement that they would no longer pirate in Providence. HoW meanwhile were gradually worn down and demoralised - eventually dissappearing off the scene.
The only pirates left in Providence at this stage were The Priory - to give them credit they are the only ones to have stuck to there guns the whole time and are a formidable foe - but at this stage they were a relatively small corporation and their raids although were more of a nuisance when they happened rather than an ongoing threat.
With the space lanes relatively secure trade prospered in the area and many 'neutral' corporations moved in to take advantage of the new found 'safe' access to 0.0. Providence has never been so busy.
This in turn attracted various other pirate corps which came and went as they realised CVA wasn't moving. Most fun of these was S******edly who gave the CVA a good and fun fight for a couple of months. (Siobhan say's hello Verone ;-) )
During this period Huzzah corps started moving into Lower Providence and formed their long standing and faithful relationship with CVA.
At the same time tensions rose with Legion. Legion's CEO had a grudge against Stain and was continually pushing to be allowed to shoot Stain. But in addition to this Legion's pirate heritage began to show and they were always making excuses to shoot people. We learned their CEO was under great pressure in their corp to break the agreement with CVA and indeed had started to put together an anti-CVA grouping. We decided to act first and decced on Legion.
Another war followed. This ended when Legion and Priory both joined Forsaken Empire and moved out of the area although Priory have always popped by when the mood takes them.
Various corps have pirated in the area since then. Fr33ks broke their 'no-piracy in Providence' agreement and went to war again. As with all pirate corps before and since they were gradually worn down by CVA/Huzzah and their activity in the region decreased.
The next big threat came when TSBS left Stain and returned to their old haunts pirating everything in sight. They have been joined by a revitalised and enlarged Priory incorporating many former Legion members with an undying...

...hatred of CVA and our loyal friends in Huzzah.
I cannot comment on current issues as I am currently on a break from EVE though I am aware that Supremacy are also pirating in the area now and the area is not as safe as it was during the CVA 'heyday'.
This is as I see it. I am sure Countessa and Waywatcher (who think Hardin/Siobhan = spawn of the devil due to something I never had anything to do with) will dispute some of it but from my perspective it is as it happened from the CVA's angle.
I am not playing at the moment so I really do not have any axe to grind...
Hope you like the history!

Priory was never in SC. Soul Cartel consisted off TSBS, Legion and a few others. HoW were in there for a time before they were kicked out and done over by the rest of SC (Mainly because of Knifur). When CVA went after HoW they were incredibly weak and had little in the way of anything capable other than the legend that is bagpuss :)
Legion weren't planning a strike against CVA at the time. I was never happy about the peace, but it remained nonetheless (thanks to Countessa the diplomat ). A legion ship was destroyed by Stain Empire when we were supposed to have some kind of dodgy NAP going on. SE refused to recompense the legion pilot. Madgaz joined bloodstar tech for a week, did some pirating then changed his mind and came back to Legion. CVA + friends didnt like this and had a moan. CVA were asked to open negotiations with SE over the ship loss for two reasons. We thought they would have a better dialouge with SE than we would, and also had a vested intrest in Legion not kicking off with everything in lower domain. CVA chose SE. We had already decided to go up north anyway and left, however it was made clear in any conversations i had with CVA + HF that we would at some point return. Now we have.
Hardin you got some things right, some things in the wrong order, and some things very wrong indeed. You know about the problems with Count over that particular issue, and you also know about the Oren Ishi incident. To claim that CVA + friends are above everyone else morally is completely incorrect. I will always dislike CVA for their past actions, hate is too strong a word and one i will save only for certain individuals who will more than likely know who they are.
Currently TSBS and Priory hold the Misaba area almost at will. Yesterday afternoon 5 enemy battleships, 1 HAC, 1 AF, 1 Covert and several capsules were all destroyed within 45 minutes by a significantly smaller Priory gang. So much so that no enemy activity was reported last night. That is the state of play as of this morning when i went to work. If you think im trying to goad people you are correct. I want something to shoot this evening.

I like that history rundown. From what i have read about TSBS looks to be pretty accurate. One thing I do remember was that when I 1st joined the bus we were at war with MASS. So that sums up the timeline that I remember. Well guess Im rambling on..... Just wanna say that these wars are a BLAST. Fly safe and Fight smart. Respect to all involved.

Responding to something way earlier in this thread...
Miriam-Webster online defines "Huzzah" as: "an expression or shout of acclaim -- often used interjectionally to express joy or approbation"
Etymological information on the word was fairly scarce, but there may be some association between "Huzzah" and the Old English word "Hisse", meaning "Heave!", as in "Heave! HO! Heave! HO!". So it may have its roots as a timing trigger for organized physical effort, like the drums on a slave galley.
This of course has nothing to do with what's going on in Providence, but I figured someone might find it interesting :)
