Sorry this if this has been asked before, but I can not work out how to use the sarch facility.
I have got stuck on the turtorial. The turtial asks me to pick up an attack drone, but when I try it, I am informed that my ship can not pick it up. The turotial will bot progress untill I manage this. Whats going on?

You need to be within 1500m of the drone. The drone also needs to be disabled to allow you to scoop it to your cargo bay. To scoop the drone right click on the target image and select the scoop to cargo hold. You can not scoop it to drone as its bigger than your drone bay.

So then yes its a bug. I had the same problem, you approach the drone and then try to scoop it.. lo and behold a message saying 'your ship is unable to scoop drone' or something along those lines.. Ahh well end of tutorial looks like I'll warp away!

yes this is not very professional.. Seems like it would be easy to fix too but for now you'll just have to skil the tutorial and learn what you need from other players :).

I just started playing tonight and hit this problem straight away.
Does this mean there's no way to complete the tutorial ?

To be honest, that was the last step in the "In-Space" tutorial other than telling you what the different Icons in the HUD mean .... let me find someplace with a decent cut & paste of them....
Circles are Planets - Circles with a dot are Moons - Circles with a triangle are Stargates
Squares are Stations, Icons that look like tops/downward arrow are Training areas, bouys, or other points of global interest.
NPC Ships are denoted by a cross
Drones are denoted by an X
Player ships are outlined by the corners of a box. (The bigger the "box" the bigger the ship.)
And Triangles are Asteroid Belts.
Other than that, just dock at the nearest station (should only be 1 in that system) to receieve the in-station tutorial, and your done with them.

In the system I started in Bourgynes you fly off to the station in that system and go from there. The tutorial picks right up.
That is an appalling bug right at the start of the game. It needs to be rectified.

yah. well, in the tutorial, the bug is, ur ship can't pick up a fighting drone, but it tells u to. no matter how close you are, your not gonna be able 2 pick it up  so as they've said, just go 2 nearest station. you should be able 2 pick fighting drones up cuz it tells u 2, so that is a really major and big bug

You can pick the drone up if u incapicate it, ie shoot the hell out of it. About 3/4 damage is enough normally to disable the drone and allow you to scoop it.

miranda, i disabled the drone when i was in tutorial, and it sed that i coodnt pick up FIGHTING DRONES yet. u cood probably pick up a MINING DRON at that time, if u found 1

Yeah, there's no way to pick it up, even when you're practically mounting it and no matter what way you try cramming it into your ship... and yes it was a gnats chuff away from vapourising and put Stephen Hawking to shame in the disabled dept too.
I killed the tutorial and docked and it took up from there (with stuff like refining etc.) Grr.

Cancelled my subscription after less than a day. Reasons? 1) Tutorial doesn't work. Bodes well for the rest of the game particularly as I assume the designers will have taken extra care to ensure it's one of the more reliable pieces of code. 2) If I give up on tutorial and warp to the station my system crashes in the most impressive (and worrying) fashion. XP Pro is, in my experience, very stable. To have it tell me it's shutting down to protect my hardware is not something I'm prepared to accept.  All the error logs have been sent to MS. Maybe they'll be better able to debug this program? Perhaps I'll give EVE a try in 6 months? If it's still around. In my opinion version 8828 is probably the one I'll look out for.

Well to be honest, i tried the tutorial, didnt work so i thought sod it and decided to READ about it *looks shocked* thats right, i actually did my own reading, asked about in the comms, and low n behold, i'm still around. i think it a lil poor that your willing to not play after failing the training mission, from what i can understand is there are a lot of different professions, and starting abilities from the way you customize your char, and to be able to do a mission for each, then that would be a hella lot of training missions. so there ya go, thats my *****in done. Fantastic game, totally addicted, slowly progressing at skills, and got my own corp (thanks to a 100k donation which i have payed back now)
