I heard 5 new frigates are going to be added to the game soon.. anyone know If we will need lvl 5 frig. to pilot them?

Why can't people read *entire* logs?
TomB > 5 new frigates are also story related, and with balancing we will be introducing new stuff to do most balancing for us, but we will keep on balancing the current ships but not as high priority as getting new ships to take over :)
TomB > you can expect the new frigates in 2-3 weeks to enter the game
TomB > 5. is Q number 5, not 5 new frigates :)

There are 16 Elite frigates listed in the client database.
These ships are collaborations between various races and as such you will need frigate skills from those two races to pilot them.
eg
Malediction elite frigate
CPU - 100
Power - 25
Cargo - 135
Armour - 290
Hull - 265
Shield - 225
Speed - 350
High Slots - 3
Mid Slots - 5
Low Slots - 5
Turrets - 2
Launchers - 1
Drones - 0
Targeting Range 25000
Skill 1 - Amarr Frigate 4
Skill 2 - Caldari Frigate 3
These are just the current listed stats. I am sure that there is some balancing to do yet on these frigates, but you can get the general idea.

why not introduce new bs.... who need new frigate? lol......
however, if there's a 8 8 8 frigate i can fly, I sure will :)

A frigate with 5 medium slots could easily find a permanent spot in a task force - even with bships.
Remember NOTHING locks faster than a frigate. Not much fun sitting in your fine Scorpion BS if you get jammed 2-3 secs before your own radar acquires a target.

It has to come in range for that, though - 25 km is not as much.

been trying to figure out how to parse those machoxxx.dat files (i take it that's where the info for the nexus comes from). could you enlighten me a bit? like the nexus but would prefer something more html. thanks

Yes, I'd like know how to get that info too. I like fast, agile ships and would like to do some early comparison shopping. You know, kick the tires a bit.

More precisely, the range is at least ~80k because it needs Frigate lvl.3 and gets 10% target range bonus per level...
... not that there' much use for it. ;s
