Edited by: Zephirz on 29/09/2005 20:01:43 Hi
3 days ago my storyline agent offered me the 10 part storyline mission angel strike. Doing some parts each day I finnally got the last part offered... The huge reward given for this mission kinda gave me the idea i need some very good skills to make it. So id like to know what to expect.
Im flying a wolf with this fitting
high - 4 280mm II (with EMP s)
med - named AB - webber
low
- small armor rep - reactive plating (20% explosive resistance) - 2 Reactor control units (yeah i know the mapc skill is finished in 3 days )
I read im gona be up against bs's and i doubt ill be able to handle those.. on the other side i read im not meant to attack these but just to destroy a "command control tower" or sumtin and safe the CEO's niece (she better be cute)
So if ya got any info on this part, dont keep it to yerself ^^

i did the mission in my apo. in the last lv are 2 whicked grps filled whit bs but they will not target you. your goal is the tower. not sure if some cruisers are waiting there. anyway i just attacked the tower and after it explodes all the rats locked me. you have a few seconds time to grab the storyline loot from the tower and get yourself out there before the cruise missiles starts connecting or even worse any ship reach you :) (i had blood raider rats, allot of enemy geddons and pocs)

In this mission there are indeed 2 large groups both containing battleships, they are on each side of the tower about 80km or something away from it (might be a bit less been a while since I last did it). There is also a third group nearer the warp in point but these are just normal couple of cruisers and frigs.
If you attack the small group the large groups will not aggro you, they will however aggro you as soon as you start firing on the control tower.
The way I did it was to park myself at optimal range from the tower, align to a warp out trajectory and then open fire, as soon as the tower pops warp out.
Now there is a nice implant in the tower loot, however if you warp out after destroying the tower and then warp back in the large groups will no longer aggro you, so you can pickup the loot at your leisure, somewhat safer than trying to grab it with them firing on you. This may however be considered a bug and since been fixed, is at least a month or more since I last did the mission so I cannot guarantee that this is still the case.

I've done that mission two times so far, and have never seen any tacklers in the last deadspace pocket.

I find the easiest way on the last mission is to clear a path to the control tower.
Then buy, fit, and insure a caracal. Get to the tower, activate the right hardeners and blow the tower away.
Sometimes you can warp out in time, sometimes not.
Either way you get a 50 mil ISK implant for an insured ship with t1 fittings. It never takes more than 2 caracals :)

ROFL
that mission is easy: Try this(someone suggested it and it works, no matter the ship)
First kill the stuff around the tower, and the stuff near the warp in(only a few cruisers, easy stuff) and MAKE SURE U DO NOT TOUCH THE TOWER.
Then get yourself BEYOND optimal(u gonna make a run to a place u can warp out) and send drones in while u are headed toward something(aligning to warp out spot) and the drones get the argo, when the 2 groups start to head your way, open up on the tower and warp out.. if u do not kill it on the way out(U will fly past it, and should easily pop it before u warp) your drones will.
When it pops, bookmark the can(or bookmark some loot from one of the other rats near the tower, both work), go finish mission, and then fly to the bookmark to gathre your loot.

Why so complicated?
- Blow up the cruisers and frigs that aggro you - Blow up the tower - Collect loot from tower - Warp out before the battleships are in range
It's really straightforward, you just need a ship with enough damage output to kill the tower in a reasonable timespan.

I did angel and guristas strikes in an Enyo, so yes an AF can do it(and better than a big ship, think sig radius vs incoming dmg)
just lock, get to optimal, align for warp, FIRE, run away and repeat as needed |

this does not work when u use missiles, when u warp out and your missiles did not arrive they dont deal any damage. ( not that they would deal much damage when they do arrive...)

Wolf Slot layout high slots = 5 launcher hardpoints = 1 turret hardpoints = 4 (ironicly this is the same as the enyo)
the guns are the main dmg, it's not like it's a caldari AF oh wait those are gun boats too
so in the case of Assault frigs, the fire and run away method IS valid |

o/ I finished the storyline mission today with the help of a corpmate (hooray for bath) And it was MUCh easier than i expected... prolly easier than the mission earlier in the storyline were u have to kill drazin (lost a wolf, who expects scramblers...) Well anyways made some good isk and had tons of fun.
Thx for the replies everyone

The last mission is easier than it seems, the first two gates no real problem, just need Em and Thermal hardeners and take out the groups of ships, only warped one quite easy, many containers so bookmark each gate and them later in a fasts ship
The last gate take ou the 4 or 5 ships by them selves again nothing to hard but the 2 groups of BS and ships, should not be done alone as 10 BS worth 800 K Isk ot a 1.1 mill isk each,
Just align to warp out and be on approuch to have speed up to max
Target the building and let your drones attack it, when the BS wake up to this the building will be half dead already, hit it with everything you have as warp as it blows, as you will be targeted by about 20 ships but as the drones will have done all the work you only stay for about a couple of seconds
Go to base tell the agent you have done it, You get the +5 implant plus the 1 mill isk and them get a Frig and go get your containers
This was done in a Ferox : 2 Hybrids, 4 heavy missiles and 2 Light missiles

I had a buddy in cyclone it all went very smoothly.. took out the first stage in my wolf np.. next stage wouldve been no problem ut the cyclone made it go 10 times as fast and the last part we blew up the control tower grabbed the loot and warped out even before the webbers fired up their mwd's

Just finished the guristas variant in a wolf with a similar setup. Apart from I am using a MAPC and so have explosive and kinetic hardeners fitted.
That last level was pretty easy. I had three webbers gaurding the outpost thingy. +3 social implant drop from it for me. I just did the usual wolf in a mission thing of orbit and kill. I wouldn't suggest the run away tactic that others are suggesting here, in a AF you need to make the most of your transverse to ensure you don't get hit by turrets. Orbit is the best way to do this. Running away will give you zero transverse and makes it a lot easier for the npc's to hit you.

Edited by: B0rn2KiLL on 01/10/2005 11:29:49 you dont need to engage the fleet, just go one, head to the tower, blow it up quick, pickup ur +3 mem implant and scramb
but personally i brought some corp members to take down the fleet for fun:P edit: and great loot too, yummy --- When It Absolutely Positively Has To Be Desotroyed. |

I did it in a Cerberus and a corpmate was assisting in a Raven. It took us a little while and a warp out or two but other than that good fun, good isk and nice loot.
