I'd like to either buy or build my own freighter (one day).
Unless I BPOs of each of the components, at hundreds of millions of ISK each, there's no way i can build all the components that i need, as I can't get any Blueprints. So.... what do I do? Do I wait for 3 years before BPCs come out? Theres none on Escrow as far as I can see.
I figure if i had a BPC for the 15 engine blocks i need, surely I could slowly but surely aquire all the componens over time. But I'm stumped. Suggestion please people?

Capital ships are not meant for 1 player to build. Get some friends togeather and it becomes MUCH easier. Or simply buy it off the market, I have seen several freighters now for sale.

buying one built is proabably ur best bet, or buying the freighter bpo and buying the comonents from market could be a possibility too.

Edited by: Trak Cranker on 30/09/2005 02:31:11 One thing to realise regarding the capital ships and their BPOs is that CCP has designed them the right way this time.
Copying takes close to three times as long as producing. Copying takes up to 5-6 weeks.
Giving the owner an incentive to produce and not just churn out copies. And reviving the role of producer. It is a move I sincerely love CCP for having made.
Thats why you wont find many BPCs on the market.
And thats why I suggest you save up your isk and buy a ship when you have enough. Its all the same in the end. Why tie any of it up in parts that will only become usable once you have them all?

There are bpcs out there to be had... only one hard to find is actual freighter bpc since thats like 6 weeks to make 1 copy but as for component bpcs they are much easier to find.

Freighters are awesome.
They are the new Polaris frigate, totally invulnerable to any attack.

I believe that there are several production corps who take orders with a BYOM policy plus construction fee. Just search the market forum for it, and check the market channels ingame. I'm sure you can find someone who will be willing to do it. If not right now, then by the time you can actually fly one and have the mins to build it.

while I can't comment on if they are available to press a freighter for you at the moment, I can tell you that NAGA has a great setup and some of the most simple freighter BYOM arrangements to help you get into a freighter.
You will need to provide the material to build and a "surcharge" for their service. Contact someone like Pallas Athene within their group for the exact information as it wouldn't be apropriate for me to speak for them in that regard.
but even on the very first runs of freighters in all of eve they were easily on the very low end of the price scale, and very efficient.
considering the logistics and aggrevation it saves to deal with the acquiring the BPO's and associated skills, and still having to muster up all the material, and the materials becoming the capital components and then the final freighter, the surcharge is a pleasure to pay to simply avoid having to do anything but pay your part in material and surcharge and get a ship on the other end.
if you set up buy orders for the minerals at a good price (that you can actually get mind you, 1 isk Zydrine orders aren't likely to be filled quickly) you can very likely get all your material for what the cost of 1 component BPO costs or even less.
just remember, when buying mineral for a freighter, tritanium is the biggest ticket item, and for every 0.01 isk you go up on your buy price, that is literally 1 million isk more that the total will cost you, so here at least, a penny saved is a million isk earned! lol
