Have I just been unlucky where we're pirating? There's never more than about 1 battleship jump into low sec space in a 4-5 hr camp, even though the number of jumpers is >50 / hr?
Or is that just the way it is? Next to no battleships, and then the occasional one we do see is stabbed to the teeth?

A combo of sitting at the wrong gate and being unlucky. I rarely have this problem, except the stabbs though, but thats a world wide problem ;)

Real pirates don't run from their posts, only the morons with full-caps names flying apocs with alts in Blackbirds sensor boosting them run when something dangerous comes their way. Real pirates looks forward to pounding and possibly ransoming battleships, that is where the money comes from.

"too many times", are you sure you're not meaning "two times"? Just because you have a local pest of overly careful campers doesn't mean they represent the general pirate population. Also, I've learned not to mistake logging or jumping as "running", but rather "this is damn boring, I've been waiting forever, I'll go do something productive with my life instead". Just because you can't find someone doesn't mean he is hiding.

Not by ransoming. Also, you'd have to kill 100 frigates or indys to find something worth anything, whereas blowing up battleships is bound to drop at least a mil worth in mods every time. Hmm, then again, the thought of killing 100 frigates has me drooling...

There are more frigs/indys in low sec when compared to bs, so i make more isk killing indys and frigates when compared to bs.
The majority of bs loot in empire sux, but people transport lots of nice things in indys/frigs. And I wouldnt say id have to kill 100s of them to find something decent

Fair enough, you win. I find that shuttles are the most common vessels in low sec empire =P

Those shuttle frighten me tbh
I saw local jump up by 5 and they all jumped at the gate i was soloing, so i began to umnline as i reached top spead 5 shuttles uncloak. And ive come to realise that this happens several times a day but usually with just 2 or 3.
I wonder if shuttle owners have gotten together to fight back against pirates by giving them irl heart attacks.
Btw I always win with the exception of when I lose.
