Im trying to figure out if there is a drawback to learning too many skills, i asked in the help channel if i could only train a certain number of skills, but they said that i could go ahead and train as many as id like :)
But im wondering if i say train a few skills up to say 5, will the other skills i havent trained, such as level 1 skills take longer then?
Hope i managed to explain my question good enough, still abit early over here :)

The only drawback to training "too many" skills is that your clone costs get much higher, but by the time your clones cost the same as BS insurance, it shouldn't be a problem.

Training your attributes (charisma, intelligence, etc) skills will improve your skill learning times. Dont neglect these.

Ahh, good stuff, thank you all :) This kinda had me worried, since i thought i saw a level 1 skill increase in training time, but i guess it just was the old space crazyness acting up.

About the only catch you'll run into is the `Jack of all trades` problem; if you tend to buy boatloads of skills and train each to lv1 before doing anything else, you'll soon realize that you can do quite a number of different things poorly. ^^
Focusing on a specific area raises your overall competancy but comes at the expense of generalization.
Train skills based on what it is you want to do. If you want to fly bigger ships, focus on some Spaceship Command, Frigate, and Cruiser skills. If you want to kick butt in lowbie areas, take Frigate up a little, then focus on some Gunnery.
Flying a huge cruiser with zero gunnery skills to support it is silly and will get you killed. Similarly being a l33t Frigate Masta with tons of gunnery skills in tiny weapons won't help you when your Frigate runs into Intys and Assault Ships out in the world.

You were probably looking at a skill with a higher rank. All skills hav a training multiplier. A rank 2 skill takes twice as long to train to the next level as a Rank 1 skill. (Just wait for battleship skills at Rank 8.)
So if you noticed that a new skill was going to take longer to train to Level 1 than your previous skill in training did, this might be why.
