I had a death warrant activated on me today. I was 12 km from the gate screwing around with combat probing. I decided to burn back to gate. Two ruptures tackled me and started blasting. I had a pretty good tank and felt confident until I was 4 km off gate and my shield was gone. For reasons that I will not go into here I had an 800mm plate and an Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane, but they must have been shooting explosive because that started to burn quickly. I had 30% structure left and hit JUMP for the 100th time and finally entered session change. Close one!
It would have been a whole lot more interesting if I could have activated my damps or neut, but I didn't want to get locked in system. Would it be terribly unbalancing if the gate / dock restrictions were based solely on actual damage and not on EWAR?

Yes.... because of pt/scram, because of jams, because of webs, because of tracks, because of nuets, and because of damps...
