Okay I don't know if this is any good.. Its for solo piracy in 0.1-0.4 space. Its my first BS, I have used Tristans and Thoraxes until now.
4 Arbalest Sieges (EM and Explosive damage) 2 Named Large Nosferatu's
4 Hypnos Multispectral ECM (Sometimes use racials if I know what the other guy flies) 1 Large Shield Booster II 1 Sensor Booster II 1 Fleeting Webifier 1 20km Scrambler
2 Ballistic Control Thingies 2 Power Diagnostic Thingies
My main concern is Heavy Drones in a 1v1, the shield booster might not hold up against 10 ogres while ransoming. What is a good way to deal with drones? And do they come close enough for a large smartbomb to hit them? If you know any way to improve this I'll be glad to hear..

There is no best fit, only fits more adapted to a situation than another. Since you are the agressor, you can choose your opponent, which means you can fit racial jammers and attack a ship of the right race, or fit an ECM burst against a ship likely to have drones. Also, since ECM are very efficient against small ships, you can get rid of your tanking modules against those and add target painters. You can remove your sensor booster against large ships. There are plenty of improvements against each type of ship.

Drones have such a low sensor strength, that they get knocked out by the burst.
I'd keep the sensor booster, you want to be able to lock stuff down quickly.

Edited by: Wrayeth on 02/10/2005 12:39:37 Edited by: Wrayeth on 02/10/2005 12:32:31 I'd suggest giving yourself the ability to repair in between fights, or even during fights. Nix at least one of the ballistic controls or PDU's for a medium or large armor rep.
You could actually run a half-assed armor tank to help you survive if your jamming slips: 1 large armor rep, 1 thermal hardener, 1 kinetic hardener. Last low slot would be a RCU II.
EDIT: Oh, and when fighting a raven, always sic light drones, preferrably warriors (because they're the fastest) on him immediately after getting him jammed. This will cause his FoF cruise missiles to chase after the drones instead of chasing you - and most of them will never catch up with your warriors. You may lose a warrior or two, but if you carry backups you can just cycle another in for each one you lose.
EDIT #2: Scratch the large shield booster for either another jammer or a cap recharger. Hell, maybe even another scrambler.
The key thing to know is that a shield booster will eat up your cap fairly quickly when combined with your jammers and won't help much since you won't have much in the way of shield resists. That's why jamming scorpions usually armor tank - so they can make the most out of their midslots. -Wrayeth
