Let me explain for thoses who dont know what im talking about...

When you open a can in space, be it jetissoned ore or loot, the window will be as big as your Items/Ship/Corp Hangar window is in the station... Now, when im in space and i loot some stuff, i dont need the window to show 30 items at a time, but when im looking at my items or the corp hangar, its needed because theres simply so much stuff.

For every window in the game its pretty easy to fix similar annoyance, as u can just un-merge the windows... but not this case ! why ? because by default they're merged, and you cant open Items/Ship/Corp Hangar AND cargo cans at the same time... because the first ones are station-only while the second one is space-only !!

Simple fix from CCP : unmerge them by default

oh another thing... do the same with the market's cargo cans. By default they're the same size as Items/Ship/Corp Hangar as well, but since u can open it in station, u can un-merge them... except it gets tiring to do it for every container because they all have independant window, and by default each of thoses are merged with Items/Ship/Corp Hangar.

Again, make it not merged with anything by default, so players can merge it with what they want :)

Very much seconded.

My HQ corp hangar is fine, but I'm buggered if I can get any other station corp hangar to seperate its position/size from that of cargo containers.

Yes, I *HAVE* tried switching to windows always opening in a new window, doesn't make any difference in the long run in this case. i.e. switch to that, seperate the CCs from corp hangar I think works, but then going back to "open in same window if possible" just makes them merge again.

Strange thing is that this first began to happen to me after I had cleaned the prefs.ini to fix the shortcut problem.

Reason for this bug is simple. In prefs.ini is stored win1_corpHangar_... but for some reson when I open second loot window (why ship cargo is stored in win1_loot_...?) it does use as template for window size and position win1_corpHangar...

Similar thing will happen if you will not have Items and Ships into station bar. In this case client UI use line from prefs.ini for Items or Ships window size and pos.

From my point of view developers should keep own lines in prefs.ini for each type of windows. I does mean keep separate entries for corporation, items, ships, ship cargo and loot windows.

It's really important for people who working a lot with corporation hangars.

Thank you.

I split the Items and Ships windows. They are no problem, and no other loot windows mimic them.. The only problem I have is my loot window and corporate hanger window are one in the same.

Hmmm I unmerged my corp hangar and loot windows by opening the corp hangar and grabbing the tab at the top of it. Not the window itself. Drag this tab out onto the station and resize it. After doing that they stay unmerged for me.

Did grabbing the tab at the top of the window and dragging it out instead of resizing the window itself fix it for you guys as well?

seems to be only half-working, i did it, it did unstick it from the corp/item/ship window size, but everytime i make a new can it comes back with the window size of the corp/item/ship...

So.... CCP ? think u can put a few mins into checking this out ? just a little unmerge by default ? Razz

You can fix this with a prefs.ini edit. It's the lines starting with "win1_corpHangar_". The key thing is the end of the line, if it's "aS'<numbers>" then it's merged with another window. Change this to "aNa." at the end and it will be its own window.

Remember to backup your prefs.ini before editting, just in case. Also, you do of course have to quit eve first.

As you can see by the date of this original thread... old problem --- however, it's still happening! I noticed since the last patch this problem is occurring. Can we please look into it. Window sizing may seem like a small matter but it can be very frustrating at times.

old topic, indeed

and personally I have no issues because I already split ships and items and docked loot cans to where otherwise is the (for me: small) ship window

what bothers me a lot more is that the corp hangar ALWAYS uses that small ship/can window to dock, I can pull it out and resize it and next time it's back to my 1x4 ship/loot view which I find highly annoying

Bump. This still has not been fixed and really annoys me, and every time my settings are lost (too often), I have to spend an hour fixing this and even then it doesn't always work. Please can we at least have the OPTION to be able to resize them all separately?
