We need a Dev Chat or Dev Blog on piracy so we can actually find out what the devs are thinking about that.

If the next content patch is late-November/early-December what does that say about the release date for Kali?
I guess that means the late November tradition from Castor and Shiva won't be continued

Kali in late November 2006 is a distinct possibility.

I wonder what they will do to shield relays and shield flux modules.

Quote: Q8: <Dian> "In development" recently had the idea of releasing long term patented t2 bpo's to an npc auction system, has this idea been expanded on and is it an idea that has gained support within ccp?
<Oveur> A number of reasons for this outlet. It's based on that each month, one of each of the tech 2 techs is put on auction with a very high minimum bid <Oveur> With this, the market should over the long term regulate itself by itself determining if this high minimum - or in many cases, the bidding war - is worth spending the ISK on <Oveur> Since you would assume that someone with enough capital and market speculation see long term profits in doing so <Oveur It's not something we've decided to do, but since some of the tech 2 markets obviously seem to be undersupplied, we think this could help with reaching equilibrium> <Oveur> Or at the very least sink out a lot of ISK from those that want to maintain their current competitive edge :) <Oveur> However, we're far more keen on overhauling the whole Research and Development area of the game and the In Development section is a good example of that <kieron> http://myeve.eve-online.com/updates/indevelopment.asp <Oveur> Providing the players with means to do active research, get limited rewards (limited-run bpc's) in exchange for various items gathered through mini-professions, complexes, agent running, reverse engineering etc. <Oveur> And of course something as cool as scientific vessels used for researching specific technology in their environments, right Viceroy? ;)
This is one things I can't really understand.
If CCP does this the monopoly won't dissapear, instead the already incredibly rich owners of for example Cap Recharger II's will propably agree upon their cartel to buyout each BP auctioned. And Im sure they are able to.
Oveur why not do the simpliest solution?
Its so easy too spot which t2 items have not enough BPO's. High market movements + profit markup of 300% and above. Cap Recharger 2's, Zealots, you name it...
Why just don't drop additional 5 BPO's of each such item into lottery? Wait 2-4 months for a result and if its not enough drop another 5.
Making auctions will consoilidate wealth. Adding to the lottery will at least have a chance of breaking the monopoly and spreading the wealth.
EDIT: You don't need a Contract System, you don't need any coding for this, all it needs is to put additional data in lottery tables. Heck you could do this today, who knows how long will we wait for Contracts. ___

Thanks to DigitalCommunits for asking for more/better corp tools.
As for the Contract System. Our corp is using a tool we call "Task Manager" where everybody can add Task/missions/Assignments with an discription. Members are able to take these tasks and note the progress (others can still comment). We are mainly using it for production and logistical tasks atm. It's not much different from a forum with lots with threads actually.
But I'd like to see stuff like multiple corpwallets and the ablity to track assets and wallet movements. Controlling is an important aspect of mangement because only when you are able to understand whats going wrong you are able to improve. I don't have a problem (well at least not a big one) when stuff goes wrong (be it due to missunderstanding, lack of knowledge or theft) but when you are not able to improve because you cann't track stuff it's frustrating.
I hope CCP is able to implemant some of this kind of stuff because it make it easier to include newer members into the corperate life.

Aliksr and others: Kali will be deployed in early 2006, not late 2006. Yes, there is a big content patch slated for deployment in the latter stages of 2005, and it will be *big*.
Rod: Just a bit. Coding the aforementioned content patch and Kali.
Chiron: No worries, that's not going to happen. We always try to end the chats with a 'zinger' question or something worth a chuckle. Sort of tradition.

Well, that proves the point. It seems expressing an opinion against the grain is illegal on this stupid forum. Conformity, conformity, conformity.
