Hi All
First time poster long time listener. I have been an active player now for Sub 12Hrs but I have a few vital questions that I hope you nice people can answer for me.
I like everyone else need ISK, so I have decided to go mining I like the idea of not killing things for now. With this in mind please could someone help me with the following
1) Ship - the one I have at the mo is the starter one and not cutting the job so what ship should I get to complement my mining haul.
2) What skills do I need to learn to enable me to use the next ship and improves my mining equipment
3) Any good "So you wanna be a miner then!" Guides out there
Hope you can help An excited rookie Tarwddu

Take a look at the data base tab on the left. "Item Database" Has most of the items in game there somewhere.
But its not just the ship but also your skills. The better your skills in your selected carrer field the better.
There also are some good mods out there that dont require alot of learning time to use. Should check them out.
Lets see.. You should have mining 1 now, but under the industrial skill tree there are more skills to increase your mining yield and your refine output.
To decrease time spent training. You should also train in your learning skills.
Most important there are corps out there that do nothing but teach newer players the basic's on how to survive in eve. Check them out...you wont be disapointed.

Hi Tarwddu and welcome to Eve.
I see you are Gallente, so the best bet for your next mining frigate is the Imicus. This has a large (for a frigate) cargo hold, can take 2 mining lasers, and up to 5 mining drones. For the ship, you need Gallente Frigate to lvl 2 and Spaceship Command to lvl 1. I suggest you look at the Item Database on this site for info on ships and items. You will need other skills to use the mining drones and the lasers. (The item database is accessed through the link at the top left of the screen under the 'EVE ONLINE' section).
Look at the Cruisers available to Gallente pilots aswell, to give you an idea for what to go for while mining with your Imicus.
By the way, mine in high Security systems for the moment. 1.0 and 0.9 systems have no pirates. 0.8 to 0.6 have pirates, but you should be able to warp out of the belt before they can attack you (don't forget to recover your drones first though). As you gain gunnery skills, and a bigger ship that you can arm with offensive weapons, you can mine and protect yourself at the same time.
I also suggest you look at the skills forum and the Ships and Modules forum. Go through the entries there as many people have made suggestions regarding mining setups and skills.
All the best to you.

Edited by: Waldo Barnstormer on 03/10/2005 14:35:20 hi tarwddu another route you might want to go down to make some isk early on (that a lot of new players just wont do) is trading. Try and work your industrial skills up, buy a hauler and a small amount of goods and sell them for a profit.
Its quick, fairly safe, and can make you some decent isk with a good run. Fairly sure theres a tutorial someone on here, but if you want to message me in game I dont mind giving you some pointers.
