I use a Large Micro Jump Drive while doing missions quite often. I was running a mission last night, and thought it would be nice if it didn't always jump 100km away since I don't always need 100km distance. So I thought, maybe add scripts to it.
Perhaps ones that set different distances, like 50km or 75km. And add another that reduces the spool up time. Of course, the scripts would have to be balanced like all the other scripts in game with drawbacks and so on for using one type over the other. Like maybe for the distance ones, you get a longer spool up time, and with the spool up time script, you use more capacitor or something.
I just thought maybe adding scripts to it might make it a bit more versatile. *removed inappropriate signature* - CCP Eterne |

I vote for a 50km script that cuts spool up time by 40% and either: * a 75km script that cuts spool up time by 20%. -or- * a 150km script that increases spool up time by 40%
2 scripts is enough, but I'd like to see some variety. 50km jump would be great for a lot of missions in which you have to travel 25-50km to get to the acceleration gate. They're so big that even at just 20km away, you can get closer to it by jumping 50km past. But 100km always seems too far. It only works if you make a triangular jump, and that takes a long time.
I also want to see smaller MJDs which spool up more quickly but don't jump nearly as far. A cruiser MJD with 1/3rd spool up time and which jumps 50km but has a cooldown time of maybe 5 minutes would be nice. Rather than using it to get around, it would be used for combat tactics.
A frigate MJD that jumps 25km and is almost instant but has a 5-minute cooldown would be nice for breaking tackle. That could really save a frigate if it gives them the room they need to get out of the webifier or warp bubble. Of course a warp scrambler would disable the MJD on any ship so there are ways of thwarting its use.
And finally Capitals really need a MJD at least so they can have any prop module at all. They could have an advanced MJD that could begin spooling up and counting distance, and then they could "punch it" at the distance they want and go that far. But it should cost a tiny bit of jump fuel, and spool up slowly. Fit a warfare link to your tech 1 battlecruiser. Train Wing Commander. Get in the Squad Commander or Wing Commander position. Your fleets will be superior to everyone else's. |

I support this idea, Using scripts to adjust the distance you want to jump to would give them more of an edge in many situations.
I would go with 40-60-80km scripts, and the default being 100km, but otherwise +1 |
