Hi all, I'm attempting to make some banners and was wondering if anyone's made a set of blank images containing just the ships with no backgrounds that is available for public use?
Figured I'd ask before going and taking the screenshots necessary to make my own, hehe.
Thanks! ===== Space-Ninjas are mammals too. |

Heh, I just end up laboriously erasing the backgrounds over and over again. Would've made sense to have saved the ships as separate images for reuse elsewhere - wish I'd thought of it at the time.

You'll find some images of ships, pictures and a really neat blueprint view, in an old dev blog. -- Lil Miner |

Run several accounts until your screen turns white
\o/
Then you have whatever ship you want on a pure white backround

Man, I wish I had photoshop! There are a few (obviously not as good) freeware digital image packages that you can download. I can't really recommend any one of them so I guess I'll just say do a google search for ..... free digital image software download and pick the one that appeals to you.

Thats a free( as in speach) image editor. Does everything photoshop does, the ui is a littly clunky but its very powerfull.
also has a windows port. works perfectly, too.

Heh, thanks for the replies guys. It's not the software I'm lookin for, it's premade images of just the ships with a white background, so I can easily use them to make sigs and banners with.
I've already got photoshop, I was just hoping to sidestep the whole "take the screenshot, then edit out the background" part of the task. ===== Space-Ninjas are mammals too. |

Gimp's not bad, but The Blink prefers Photoshop.

BTW, great work on Warp Drive Active! Yeah, Gimp looks quite good and is certainly better than what I've been using so far. However, I still think that I'll try to pick up an older (and hopefully therefore cheaper) copy of Photoshop.
No, I've not seen any ship outlines anywhere for cut and paste. They are however pretty easy to make though. I've found it's much easier if you can find a picture where there is high contrast between the ship and the background.
