But then, ofcourse, you mess up...*mental note - read the whole paper before complementing*. EVO did not wage a succesful war and had to leave because VA organized its military and began to put up a good fight. However, no big losses on either side, EVO decided to leave the region for now. Honestly, i don't think they should ever come back since now our military is one of the best in game...

All in all it's a nice concise update on all the politically happenings in the Eve universe.
Especially for those that don't have hours on end to pour over these boards daily. And no I'm not one of them, I have loads of time while at work.

The Venal Alliance (NR - )
The political face of what is partly a piracy operation based out of the Venal region but operating in Pure-Blind, Trubute, Forge and even "northern" Lonetrek.
Known member corporations include: [TCE] The Chaotic Empire, [VG] Venal Guardians,
[SPVD] Space Invaders, [GANG] The Gang, [CYB] Cyberdine Systems, [CRA] Cranium Corp
[OCC] Occassus Republica, [PID] Pardon Inc.
[TSG] The Sirius Group, [MFI] Mafia Islands, [SWIG] Whistler CEO Corp, [999] Andras Pandaemonium, [PLD] Paladins of the Red Skull, [TTI] Taggart Transdimensional,
[KEX] Kongull Ex, [JERIC] Jericho Fraction.
The VA operate a "pass" system whereby Corporations or individuals can gain access to the Regions claimed by them (Venal and regions "North" of it).
--update: no more passes. region is closed for all trespassers. everyone that is caught will be fired upon.
It is worth highlighting that TTi regard themselves as a functioning part of the Venal Alliance, an alliance that is quite open about having piratical corporations within it, despite TTi's claims to be law abiding and such like. Past history saw TTi pull out of the VA during a period of warfare with Evolution Corp, very much leaving VA in "the lurch", yet when TTi made to leave Lonetrek (and other Empire space) the VA wellcomed them back in.
--TTI was not a part of VA when EVO invaded the region. They reconsidered the proposal to join after EVO left tho :)
Without doubt this is the strangest of "bedfellows" for either TTi or the VA.
--Why? I dont see how is it strange. Pirates do their thing, miners do their thing...all works out rather nicely...

This kind of political analysis delivered in an editorial format was something that was sorely missing. I commend your unbiased reporting in the MDW. (hey, you have even got all of my quotes correct!)

On another note, The developers of eve should take serious note here. This is the kind of political conflict/intrigue that I am sure they had envisioned for the empires of the eve universe. It is a serious shame that with all of the excellent backstory, details, and complex relationships allready in place, the empires in eve are virtually transparent. When and if the prime fiction of the game does get off of the ground, it will have to compete with the player corp conflicts described in MDW. If the prime fiction cannot compete, it will flounder and sink with no one participating. I truly hope this will not be the case.

Actually, according to the website we were given to look at when we engaged venal, tti where a part of the venal alliance, although they quickly pulled out and declared they had nothing more than a NAP, they had several representitives contact us on irc just to let us know they had nothing to do with the alliance.

Perhaps your intelligence people should wake up then if you guys based your assessment of venal alliance members on one webpage. It listed RUS as a full member for over a week aswell btw... Quote:

Seriously though from what you just posted, what Morpheus said and also from what was said and spoken back when that happened I'd put my money on TTIs statement that they were just an NAP and wrongly listed and that you guys showed a weakness with the kind of intel you were acting on. But I'm sure you have by now fixed that problem.
