2: Back in the day Amarr ships were usually gold, because you were only going to have one color scheme per ship. Very soon we will have a variety of color schemes to choose from, and reflective gold is reserved for the royal houses... not our standard civilian models. We get more of a Bronze and tan color scheme in most cases, with other corps/houses running the spectrum all the way to Black or Mahogany.
3: New lighting effects will make a difference as well.
To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors.
If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

@ OP, you do realize that every ship in the game is going to get "re-imagined" at some point right? The new scheme might just work well with the re-imagined version. I think the new Apocalypse based on what I've seen works very well with the new theme. |

CCP did a horrible job with ALL of the new Navy skins tbh.
Its just so that they ruined the Amarrian Ships COMPLETLY. Not only the Navy Ships.
The new Gallente V3 Shader look ok, Minmatar looks as bad as ever, so ok as well, Caldari didnt change much as well, maybee they are a tad too dark now (speaking of T1 Hulls now).
But Amarr should have a GOLDEN Fleet. Not turd Brown, not Bronce, not dryed-blood Red. GOLDEN.
I have Templar One here, the Book. Writen by an official CCP Employee. And there it is discribed that the Empire did put 24 Karat of Gold on ANY space installation. Gates, Stations and ships.
CCPs Art department is just simply doing a job, they dont invest heart and soul into what they do and you can clearly see it in their work. This doesnt neccesarily mean that they do a bad job. It just means that they dont care about the impact it has on the game. The Eve Online backstory may not be a very dominant part of the game, but there are people that care about it and see its potential.

If u dont belive me, get an Abaddon and try to get a reasonable fiting out of it with Tachyon Beams on it.

Ok, this one I can't let go.
The Abaddon, with the exception of the resistance bonus nerf - which every ship with such a bonus is getting - has been left exactly as it was, and it from what I recall it was a pretty popular ship. Couple this with the fact that large lasers are about to receive a huge buff to PG and cap consumption and the Abaddon is now better off than it was before, which is not the same as 'ruining the ship'.

There is an entire CCP team devoted to collecting, organizing, and updating outdated lore to fit the current game state.
I've noticed that every post you make on this and related subjects is always fervently against any kind of change. If it's different it's automatically bad... mostly because it doesn't match your perception of how EvE "is supposed to be".
Fortunately, you don't make those kind of decisions... otherwise we'd still be restricted to the selection of ships (and capabilities) that were part of the game originally (and part of the game lore). No Super Carriers, no covert ops, no probing, no jump bridges, no Tech 2 or Tech 3, no worm holes, no faction warfare.
The things you accept as part of the history of the game are relatively recent additions for many of us. You might want to keep that in mind.

I play since 2007. And i am by far not the only one of the old timers that are unhappy with the direction CCP is heading.
I can accept change, i even admited that not everything they did is bad. But unfortunatly A HELL LOT of it is pretty bad. WH where a very welcomed addition, FW was broken for a long time (and maybee still is but u will have to ask ppl involved with it).
Super Carriers are a very good example for things CCP does. And for their lack of foresight or a sense for balance. First they let them starve, afterwards they buff them to be absolutly overpowered and later they nerf them to oblivion.
Unless u are part of one of the few supercap blobbs out there, a SC is pretty useless. I had one myself and know enough ppl that still have them and are not very happy about their capabilities. Most of them dont log them in for weeks, if not months.
And Templar One is a RECENTLY released book describing the background of their RECENTLY added game Dust 514. So my conclusion is either that one hand at CCP does not know what the other does (i.e. Story7Lore Department <> Art Department) OR that they simply dont care about the lore.
Change is good and necessary. But to change something should also always lead to improvments. And CCPs record in this regard isnt the best tbh.

The entire ship isn't made of gold. Only the outside plating. The Amarr got tired of us matari nicking **** from their ships.
