No I can confirm that !!! Yesterday 3 of your guys blew my Armageddon up in low sec... nearby Uphallant, nothing mention in local... but hey it is part of the game. I knew the risk of being in low sec and 0.0 so that is something I have accepted, after all only lost a Armageddon with some crappy loot in it it was just supportship for my buddy.
Keep up the good work of making life in low sec exiting... (oh and my buddy's wallet filled with isk as he is a producer too).

Put it this way...
If WW3 is was now and you enter china or whatever country you would probably be shot on sight... (If it was a true world war).
Get it?
This is a PVP game, everywhere you go people are going to try to kill you.

This is because EVE has something a lot of other MMOs don't.
Politics.
You enter someone else's space, you're gonna get shot at most likely. So you can either chill out in high sec Empire space that nobody can claim, brave it out in low sec, or join an Alliance with claims to regions of 0.0 space. Its how the game works, and one of those little things you probably didn't get told in the tutorial.

Most corps in 0.0 have a 'not blue - shoot it' policy.
this means if you dont have positive standing set (you appear blue) tou will be shot.
That aside, BNC are EVIL evil pirates.

Edited by: Nero Scuro on 06/10/2005 09:02:39 Try asking for permission next time. Some alliances might tell you to STFU, some might ask for a toll, some might actually let you in. Couldn't hurt.
EDIT - NOT that even if they DO give you permission you should go into 0.0. There are lots of ebil pirates knocking about that'll toast you even if you do have permission from the local alliance. If you want to try 0.0, go in in a frig. _________

The same thing happened to me yesterday, when some NBSI guys refused to let me leave a 0.0 just in case I was a spy. But here it gets tricky, because if I WHERE a spy, what possible good could killing me do? I wont have any equipment or implants, and whatever information I had I would still have when dead. And if I am not a spy, they its just mindless ganking against a rookie.
Well, I lernt my lesson: no more 0.0 for me. And since I am pretty sick and tired of doing the same level 3 missions again and again, I am not sure what I can do in EVE thats fun.

Get a bigger ship, get a corp, get some friends, and go back into 0.0 and slap up the guy who killed you.

Someone please do a full explanation of the concept of "not-blue-shoot-it" (nbsi) for the OP - I'm too tired to write out a long, detailed explanation of why it's necessary to kill neutrals/non-friendlies to protect your own members.
(To be fair, though, BoB often just kill people because they can - nothin' wrong with that since this is only a game, but sometimes it's just a bit *too* much.) -Wrayeth

Hmm, yea, well part of the reason I was there was to talk to those guys and see if I could join. That didnt turn out to good though, I can only assume they didnt want me

Imagine if you did let in all the neutrals and people who say they wanna NPC and mine.
What happens then if this blob of neutrals decides they fancy a bit of PvP and attack the alliance who claim the space, wouldn't it have been easier to kill the neutrals as they entered?
NBSI is the right way to go IMO.

Neutrals NPCing and mining are not welcomed in 0.0.
After spending months fighting for their territory, people generally dislike freeloaders who get it all free but don't help to defend. They figure: "If they really wanted to be a part of the community, they would join the alliance. So kill them. They're moochers and freeloaders, and deserve to die."

Ouch... you jumped into PF-346. The Single most violent system in Eve. That is some serious bad luck for a newbie to 0.0. Check the map for podkills and dont go there alone your first few times. It can be rough. But anyway PF-346 is like some kind of hell mosh pit.
Oh and dont listen to the baiters telling you to ask for permission. Thats like asking an LA gang if you can use their ATM in south central LA. They will say "sure" and kill you and take your money anyway.
Dont pay ransoms, its not worth it.

if you let a spy go, he safespots or docks and continues spying. if you kill him, it gets him out of your space, and if the entry points are camped he'll stay out of your space for a while.
there's some alliance that supposedly has a "remove on sight" policy rather than the more common "kill on sight", but even then some of their members choose to "remove" neutrals with their guns.

First of all Pf-346 is 1 of those famous 0.0 entrances dosent matter how much someone says we controll PF itll never Happen Pf is a KNOWN PK ground u should have checked with others before you entered 0.0 atm this is your own fault you knew the risk and took it.
Now i know what you mean that killing everythings thats not blue... the very nice motto alot use is if its not blue its goo.
There are Safe 0.0 entrances or atleast safer Stacmon being 1. Next time ask around check it out before you go in make sure you have BMs and have an eye on local ALWAYS.
another thing id like to add is that not all are blackbeards and not all are PKers in 0.0 there are carebears there aswell just like there is in empire i have alwyas tried not to gank clueless people in 0.0 sometimes the urge to PvP just gotten the better of me others i rushed to help a neutral in perril and died on the coup
do never draw everyone over 1 line we are all different

Pirates? Lol .. no cowards. Killing a Vexxor with three HACs isnt exactly an accomplishment of momentus porportion. Nor would it be very proffitable. A pirate is someone who pvps for profit, someone who scrambles your ship and ransoms you. Not some idiot that blows up anything that moves nor some idiot that blows up a fly with a nuclear weapon.
Some people .. It is quite funny to see them congratulate each other on the kill.. lol

every ship could potentially be carrying BPOs or expensive kit or minerals, therefore every ship should be destroyed to maximize profit. killing people doesn't cost anything, letting them go could cost you millions.

Well Wolfgang I am surprised that a guy with 3 other characters has only 6mil in his wallet. Especially if Wolfgang is the only combat character amongst them. So quiet down, this isnt your first time in 0.0 and especially that area of 0.0. You know that PF is probably the worst chokepoint in Eve.
Your corporation is ex-Imperium. Easily mistaken for a scout. And you know that BOB follows a NBSI policy. You have known it since you were in NORAD, RG and Imperium and both of them have had relations with BNC.

Edited by: Ikvar on 06/10/2005 15:21:34 So, let me get this straight.
You jumped into PF-346, one of the hottest systems in the game, with no intel AND there were people sitting there who you assumed weren't going to shoot you? Why do you think they sit there every day?
You may not understand the PVPer (not PKer, seriously don't use the term PK in EVE) mentality but I sure don't understand the mentality you have to have to do the above.
Quote: Why would you blow up such a cheap ship when the pilot is offering to give you 3x more than you would make by collecting the modules that are not destroyed?
Because they don't want your ISK, they're there for the fun of PVPing, wether it's a fair fight or not.
Quote: Anyways, what really confuses me is that in EVE people can be "the good guys" and "not pirates" but they will just slaughter anyone for any reason, whether provoked or not. Hello? Thats what a pk is!
In 0.0 no one and everyone are pirates simultaniously. The single worst thing you can do in 0.0 is for a second think that anyone who isn't green, purple or blue isn't already locking you with his web, disruptor and guns activated. In 0.0 reasons for killing you range from the enforcement of territory holding to just plain fun. It doesn't matter if you provoke them or not, 0.0 is a 'PK' area.

To the original poster:
You can always go on SISI and fly to 0.0, not a soul insight on the test server. There you can test your setup all you want in perfect* safety. Atleast it is easier testing then going to 0.0 when you are not alligned to some alliance.

Almost everyone else who posted after I said "Thanks for the advice." either said stuff I already know, said inaccurate stuff, put words in my mouth and then analyzed it in a stupid way, or made some other logical fallacy. Honestly, if you go to 0.0 expect to get dusted and your buttocks handed to you at any given moment for no reason whatsoever. Thats just the way it is out there.
However, that said the guys who dusted you were idiots. If they have you locked down and you offer money to leave then they should have had a brain cell, taken the money and let you go and TOLD you that this is their space, see you again, you die. Then again if they were real numbnuts they could have just taken your money then iced you. Its the way it goes out in 0.0.

Um whats the difference between a "PKer" and a "PVPer."
PVP=Player vs Player PKer=player killer
...You can't PVP without being a "PKer," unless you just really, really suck and can't kill anything .

Ok, its very simple:
1. There are no pirates in 0.0, as there is no law for them to break. 0.0 is a free for all with only politics regulating.
2. Your little Vexor and pod got me to 112-5 on my killboard, i need no other reason then that, i could care less about your medium named loot.
Its a game, and what was said above is the best answer, get a corp, get some friend, and feel what its like to play eve to win.

You seem to be new to MMOs, so I will expalin. A pvper is a person who seeks out fights against other people who are seeking fights. A pk is a person who kills anyone he can, and usually preferes to kill defensless people over people who can actually fight back (but that is not neccessarily required). Yes, both of them technically do "kill players." Dont get caught up on technicallities though. Maybe such a concept is above you.
