So is the Dev-blog just a feel-good happy thing that they post stuff on that means nothing?
There's no mention of any of the really important issues.
Today I actually had the crash-to-desktop happen twice.... both times many people in my corp were effected as well. Of 10 of us online, only one was unaffected.
And in the most recent crash, a friend actually told me that my ship was floating in space as a derelect until I re-logged....
does this scare anyone else?

For how long? It's supposed to stay in space for 2 minutes.

Common occurence today (the CTDs and node drops causing ctds and reboot and all manner of fun)
The derelict thing is no problem though...essentially just a "label" (youre not really a derelict that somebody else can board and take over)
BugHunter team are asking folks to run the logserver and try to nail down whats causing the CTDs etc.
<[BH]> Of all the CTD bugs there is NOT MANY IF AT ALL logfiles, dump files, and not even a DXDIAG file attached to the BR <[BH]> The lack of info really ties CCPs hands. <[BH]> Tell your friends. You want to help CCP fix the CTDs - start the logfile server for a day and send in the above files in a zip
(I assume its ok to post that from irc - if not mods deal with accordingly)

Started playing at 6:30 pm EST... Just finished about 20 mins ago at 10:25 EST.. Warped to the desktop 5 times.... Warped to a Computer BIOS screen twice....
Yup its getting pretty bad.... 3 of those times I was scramlbed and webbed fighting NPCs... thankfully I was able to relog to discover that all 3 times I was firing and apparantly continued firing throughout the relog process so I lived to fight another day....

Edited by: Hikaru Okuda on 02/08/2003 03:49:13 It's happening to a lot of people at once too. I've been watching the live graph from Eve I:COM... (More fun than CTD every few minutes) and it has notches where huge groups of people are getting kicked (won't call them valleys--not long enough in duration)

Edited by: Calladen Nimitz on 02/08/2003 03:51:53 I've also experienced several incidents today. On the first occasion all three computers crashed and rebooted (at once). The second time all three game clients crashed but only one computer rebooted. Last night I also had a mass-crash-reboot experience.
I have verified several of our corporations members suffered a similar event. I have a character (brand new) in the Caldari newbie corp and also noticed newbies in the newbie corp channel wondering what was going on so its widespread.
Strange occurance considering we haven't had a patch in the last two days.

Thats actually not true. At least 2 people (me included) who lost our ships to m0o ans Sinister when they knowingly or unknowingly used the grid exploit had out ships and modules replaced by the GMs.
I have to admit I was uprised but I think this shows a new level of understanding from the GMs that as customers we do actually deserve a little from them.
As for the dev blog, I think its just meant to be an informal place where the devs can chat about things that they are thinking about rather than a very formal Dev Diary which would mean the devs spending even less time developing just to let us know that they are spending even less time developing to let us know... ad infinitum ;)

ive CTD 4 times in under an hour now i have had it happen like 2 other times in last 2 months 1 time a month no biggie 4 times an hour makes the game a pain to play ================================================
I just find laughable that, despite all the big talk, they end their "careers" in such a way. oO |

It seems many of us have been CTDing.
Personally, this has never happened before the patch before last.
Hey, new time system: based on patching. "Patch before last", "Patch after tomorrow", "I'll gladly pay you three patches from Tuesday."

I can't wait for CCP accountants to start posting here. Can you imagine that?
"" Damb game crashed again and we lost another customer. All the time and money we invested only to have it gone in one stupid glitch. FIX IT ""
>>>>insert standard CCP reimbursement poilcy here<<<<
And this one.....QUOTE:
"" maybe it's from all the new people coming online....overburdening the system.""
Maybe it's all the people CANCELING overburdening the system.
No wonder the reviews are astronomical. I really think it's long past time CCP stopped balancing, changing, implimenting, optimizing and FIX the KNOWN problems and stop creating new ones.
The more efficient or optimized your system is getting, the WORSE it operates. Prime time California and you have less then 2800 people online, this at the start of the weekend.
I'm not a computer genius. I'm not a programmer. I'm also not so stupid as to see this game is NOT working, and yet I am so STUPID as to keep PAYING for this.
Why?
The emperor has no clothes and yet the fanboi population keeps telling him how nice his clothes look.
