I'm developing a website for my corp. I would like to put some of the avitar pictures on there, but I do not have the space on the server to hot all of the pics. I know that the eve-online forums use an ASP script to get the information, but this is from the user ID of the character, and not the user name. I would like to know if there is any way of getting the user ID from the name of the player to use this script.
What I'm wanting to do is put a little background about each player onto a pre-rendered image and then put the avitars pic on ther, sort of like a who's who in the corp, and what there main skills are. If this is posible great, if not I'll fall back on storing the UID as well, but getting this information is a difficult process.
Any help is appiciated.

Don't think you'll be allowed to access their DB of avatars. á

Just use capture 'Capture portrait'.

I can use the following URL to grab my pic at 64 x 64 : http://myeve.eve-online.com/chr/serv.asp?s=64&c=158488077
What I want to do is grab anyones pic given the name, otherwise I'll have to ask everyone to supply their user ID (in my case it's 158488077)

Hey! That¦s exactly what i'm looking for. Would be great to have the Charactername as parameter for that script. It would be VERY usefull.

So does any of the GM's Web dev's or anyone that has access to the afore meantioned script have a way that we can pass a Player's name to it to get a nice pic of ourselves at 64x64 or 128x128 even?

Just an idea, have your members post something in the test forum and right click their thumbnail and choose save as... and save it to you harddrive then upload it to your server. Otherwise use the capture portrait. To do this, right click on the person's pic in game and choose "capture portrait'. It is save in your capture folder in the main eve folder I believe.

Chizad, ok it looks like you did not read my original post correctly, I have VERY limited space, the actuall amount is < 512KB (YES I know, but I'm using my corp server and they would not notice 512KB of space missing) So uploading ebery corp members image is not posible.
THe Capture portate thing has been sugested, and it's not posible to use because of the space constraints. Also the system I'm developing might be changed so that the entire eve userbase could use the site!!
This stops the use of the capture portrate option and any other options of using stored images....

I'd really like to see this too. I played around with that asp page, trying to get it to accept a username, but it didn't work
