Race and looks can hype someones REPUTATION.
Also good for roleplay.

There's no real difference other than attributes, which affect training times.
There are no classes in EVE. No night elves, no clerics.

So your telling me it doesnt matter what race i choose ? if i was amarri and wanted to be the best fighter pilot in the game i could do that? its all just for appearence?

Mostly, yes. Race also determines the ships you can pilot at first although you can eventually train all race's ships. If you don't want to train all race's ships, then the choice becomes a bit more important to how you want to play. Other than that, it's all about how you like the look of your character.

Well, it's not strictly 'just for appearances'. Any race can learn any skills and therefore fly any ships, use any weapons etc. The racial background is purely storyline and roleplay, if that's your thing. If not, then don't worry about it but be aware that there are players out there who do roleplay and may not like you (eg, the Amaar/Minmatar prejudice).

Im sorry to be so repetitive in my questioning, however i can basically use any character to fight and produce goods and still be as good at it as any other character? if so that is such a good feature and very realistic.

Yes.
Thats one unique thing about EVE. Anyone can do anything.
