I recently downloaded the trial version and i must say i am very impressed with how the game is so realistic. i do however have a couple of questions and any feedback would be much appreciated.
1. I kind of wanna do everything however my passion is fighting other ships and blowing them up and looting them. what are the best stats to start with on a new character. (i realize i can increase my stats as i play but im not sure how much or if there is a cap on certain characters)
2. How do i train new skills that are not in my skills list?
3. For a new pilot starting out what is the best way to make money
4. how long does it take to max out everything I.E end game

1: Willpower and Perception will be the best to get your navigation, spaceship command and gunnery skills up. However, you will also need to train up engineering and electronics skills, which are reliant on Intelligence and Memory.
2: You can buy skill books from numerous different stations on the market.
3: If you want to focus on combat, NPC hunting and missions is probably the best way to go
4: There is no end game. You cannot max out all skills. Period...

You can have an infinite number of skill points. The rate at which skills are being added exceeds the speed at which they can be trained.
However skills have five levels and once a skill is trained to level five no further training can take place. What often happens is you need to train a particular skill to level 5, in order to train a second skill in the same area to get access to top of the line equipment.
For example if you wanted to use t2 light neutron blasters, small guns that deal out a lot of damage, you would first train small hybrid turret to 5 and then train small blaster specialisation.

No. Once you get a skill to level 5, that skill cannot be trained any further. There are simply so many skills available that, with the new skills that are occasionally released, it would be virtually impossible to learn them all.
However, don't be mistaken into thinking you need massive amounts of skillpoints to partake in PvP, otherwise you'll never make a start, as there will always be players more experienced than you . A lot of the PvPers on this forum started when they had amassed enough SP to use a scrambler and a MWD. I have over 7m SP, but as most of them are in science and industry, a relative newbie could beat me with well set up ship.
