Carriers, the poor mans cap, well relatively anyway.
They have a fairly important role in logistics (ie moving things around, that kind of logistics, not remote reps etc) so maybe that role needs to be expanded further.
*The following is an idea, it is not in anyway refined, so it would require significant balancing to implement*
Logistics Module - High Slot, Effect of the module not removed by offlining, must be unfitted, cannot be unfitted in High Sec
Decrease Drone and Fighter DPS by 75% - Maybe not severe enough not sure Decrease logistics modules effectiveness by 75% - Again, severity?? More/Less Unable to use jump drive Cannot enter deadspace pockets, activate deadspace gates, or participate in missions in any way
Increase Corp Hangar, Cargo Bay and ship maintenance bay size by 50/100% - Too much/not enough?? Add Ore hangar of maybe 40,000 m3
Finally the main point of this module - Can use jump gates, however only gates that enter or transit between high sec
It would allow carriers to assist in mining ops in high sec, move high value cargo, and simply be placed in high sec, if say your alliance is ejected from Null or such.
Maybe a Fuel cost for using a gate, as an extra balancing measure??
Any thoughts then??? |

It's called a ******* orca, why do you need a carrier to mine? The orca is meant to be the mining "carrier" vessel of high sec.

Ok, can't jump by gate from high to lowsec or null.

So basically you can't unfit it at all because you can't leave highsec to do it. |

however regarding normal carriers, will ye please make the fuel bay larger CCP? 3000m3 is just too small.... increase it to 6000m3 to allow for 4 jumps and still a bit of stront for a triage cycle... the rest of the stront takes up the corp hangar Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless your from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs. |

Fair point, hadn't considered that, ok so they can jump out to low sec from high sec, but not from low-low, low- null, or null-null etc |

as they said you can use an orca for that on high sec and if the JF are too expensive you can use a rorqual for low/null freight and minage bonus
the only buff i would consider here is raising the ship maintenance bay. the rest is terrible idea |

Why would i fly a carrier? Just fly a dam guardian..... would rep more than your dam carrier........
Also, your nerf would effectively eliminate any ability to rep BS fleets in large fleet/super cap engagements thereby making the nerfs CCP just made to supercarriers and titans meaningless.

im sure a well fit carrier will rep more then a guardian.....
anyways OP no, carriers don't need to be in highsec there is no point carriers should become the capship-> anti support ship in the new fleet warfare with the nerf to supercarriers |

It's obvious that the OP wants something resilient like a Carrier to support his mining and other high-sec operations, as the Orca is rather fragile for a "capital ship" to say nothing of an exhumer or non-freighter industrial. |

Well, yes want a carrier, no not scared to leave high sec, I'm quite happy to throw my ships into low sec/WH/null tbh, its only pixels after all, just I'm in a predominantly high sec (at the moment) corp, and it would be handy in general. |
