Very little has been heard from the upper echelons of the Amarr Empire in recent months. However, CCP Eterne has been quite busy...
Check out his debut chronicle, "And I shall hide" and delve into the mind of Empress Jamyl I as she fights an ongoing struggle with the entity that shares it.
You can read the whole thing over on the EVElopedia, here.

Im not sure I understand what generation of immortal soldiers the Dust players are actually playing. Are any playing the first generation ones, the ones made with Sleeper tech? If so, are they expected to role play being insane or something? If not, are those first gen soldiers now NPCs, and the players fight them as a way of making ISK? Or just not in the game in any way? http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

The current group is actually (if I recall correctly) the third generation. The first one was the one with directly implanted sleeper tech, the second group was a little too close to the first and still had anger issues while the third group (the current players) are all fine using homegrown tech, and as such don't have that batch of anger issues (though what issues they develop from being in combat so much as dying as much as they do are yet to be seen - grab the popcorn bowl if you haven't already) http://www.dust514.org - the unofficial forum for everything DUST 514 http://www.dust514base.com - the blog site with everything else DUST 514 you need

DUST players are second generation cloned soldiers who have been implanted with the tech Jamyl's scientists developed and offered to the other empires in the 514 chron. The original, insane ones implanted with Sleeper tech are not supposed to be the players (though if someone wants to RP that, I doubt we'll say it's wrong). There's no way to currently fight them. Basically, some DUSTies are going to have to get nuked because they're going crazy.
Joke's on Snowflake though - they already nuked the first generation of "player" clones (see my post above). Depending on how this whole political mess plays out, perhaps never. It's highly probable that th upper echelons of the four empires will see some change, and maybe we will see a new emperor/empress soonGäó.
I would however know how the pirates are reacting to this whole set of affairs. I still believe that old Uncle Kuvakei has at least some kind of influence. |

I get the sneaking suspicion that, unlike the other empires, political leaders in the Empire don't tend to change at the drop of a hat. So unless she's assassinated, kidnapped, or runs away, she's unlikely to vanish any time soon. |

Well, we plowed through two Emperors (Heideran and Doriam) and a multi-year long interregnum under Dorchuta Kasoth in the last 10 years. |

King Khanid? That would be a pretty major change considering he's not one of the heirs.
A good read. Thank you CCP Eterne I hope you voted, you glorious but often apathetic bastards! STV working as intended; Pre-elections and Get out the Vote, room for improvement. |

I hope not. The fact that Amarr history has plenty of centuries old Emperors and then suddenly there's a period of 3 seperate Emperors and a lengthy inter-reign period simply because now there's players watching the history, was annoying as hell. Jamyl is a good character to have in place.Besides the significant weaknesses that make her character interesting there is also always that mystery of the "Other" to flesh out. She's about the only good thing to come from Gonzales' writing. |

Eterne: As your first chronicle, you've done exceedingly well.
The separate versions of the chron (those who didn't notice btw, THERE ARE TWO, go back and look) could have easily taken a turn for gimmickry, but it's played well.
I've been following the Heirs (and have met a couple) since the game went live, and I feel like the characters represented here are those people, fitting the personalities I expect, with just enough departure from that mold to remind me that I'm only a distant observer. This, to me, is highly preferable to the approach of another EVE writer whose work takes up a permanent spot on my desk.
The Amarr Faction was set up all along to have certain unique nuances of narrative available to it. Each of the Empires do. I cannot wait to see such a long-prepared scenario move into motion.
I would only ask that you find some way for long-suffering loyalists to be involved in some way, a real way.
Good Chron. They've all been winners lately. The New Fiction Team's track record is proving better than many expectations. + Cardinal Graelyn + Owner/Operator, "The Summit" Amarr Loyalist of the Year --áYC113 |

Long live the King! (also, great chron, normally not a fan of present tense first-person narratives, but it works for the Empress) Frogblast the Vent Core! I've been very iffy with the Empress' insanity previously, since she's been portrayed in EVE very well despite the issues in TEA and introducing her "issues" in-game could ruin that character (not to mention the Empire needing to stick with an emperor for once). However, you did it great justice with this chronicle. Instead of being a crazy nutjob, Jamyl is shown to still to be a strong and proud empress, one that is unwilling to cede her control and dignity to whatever problems she might be faced with.
That's awesome and very well done.
Also liked the depictions of the heirs. Aritcio "Amarrian Batman" Kor-Azor continues to be the awesome good guy that the Empire has long needed, and it was very nice to finally see some stuff out of Catiz. Khanid being shown completely unphased by everyone else was very fitting for the character, and Yonis being described as "the most powerful man in the Empire" filled me with joy. Ardishapur Victor!
Looking forward to seeing more from you, Eterne! |

Thank you. I like to think I have a fairly strong grasp of characterization, so I hoped I would be able to pull off the distinct personalities of the Heirs. Especially given how limited the face time some of them get is (though you can probably tell my favorites by how much they do!) I'm glad at least some people think I've pulled it off.

An excellent chronicle! Well done, Eterne. I really enjoyed reading the chronicle, then finding out there is a way to hear the voice as well, and it gave me a different perspective on the setting, very sneaky of you, you magnificent bastard! I suggest everyone to read the both versions, though it goes better if you read the voiceless version (the primary one) first. |
