Highsec was probably designed as a place where new players could develop and understanding of Eve and get themselves sorted before venturing off into the uncharted and hostile wilderness. New players still start there. Also players who are conflict averse and just want to fabricate and farm live there. The problem is that the new players are forced to be exposed to the conflict averse players before they meet those who enjoy the PvP aspect of Eve. The Bears get first dibs on the new recruits. I lost years of game play trying to get out of highsec because of misinformation and people who hate the other side of the game. After a month and personally much poorer, alliance dissolved and sov was taken, left corp and never been back in null since.

And from your story i really don't see anything opposite to this "blue theory". Reinforcing POCOs? And never returning to finish attack.... LoL. You missed the 'epic' part about how 10 or so guys walk away with trillions after the melt down and we see it all begin again. The pickle that is EVE. It dies without Vets but Vets are the ones who watched it all play out over the years and know damn well what is going to happen at every turn.

It's mainly because the critics of null sec are so blinded by their hatred of it that all they see is bad. Couple that with human being inability to understand the past and you get "omg, blue donuts!!!" When i started playing, everyone was upset because BoB owned null sec and "no one can get in" and what not. Then its the NC, or the Russians, or the Goons, or Goons and TEST or CFC and HBC etc etc. They just don't get it, null sec is always changing, they take the rare "pockets of stability" to mean that null is somehow stagnant. If null was truly stagnant, I would not have had to move so much. Since 200t, i've lived in Syndicate, Omist, Insmother, Detorid, back to insmother, then back to Omist (Damn you Russian + PL for killing Atlas lol), then Querious, then Delve, on to Fountain, back to Delve, then back to Querious (DAMn Goons) and into STAIN, back to empire, then out to Geminate to kick in some NC teeth (die NC die, go Russians!), then to Vale, the Tribute, BACK to Vale then out to Venal (grrrrrr freaking Goons and TEST kicking stuff over again), and ONCE AGAIN I'm back in Querious....or was till it got attacked and now I'm in CATCH of all places...... Yep, null sure is stagnant the 13 null sec regions I've lived in since late 2008 are a testament to stagnation!

This will never change on any of the major killboards though, because reporting ISK Destroyed in that manner helps inflate e-peen sizes. And boy, do people here in Eve love their e-peen. CCP Sreegs is my favorite developer.
