You se i live in sweden and something is wrong about the GMT time. Sweden is in GMT zone+1. And everything works fine
Exept that EVE crew has it's downtimes on +2 when it clerly says" 11-12 GMT. In sweden it goes down about 13:00 and up in 14:00. Me and some friends have speculated that it is due to a strange summer/winter times. but in EU we have a standard winter/summer time, and that should apply to England/london to. Maybe sweden jumped 1 hour in to the future?

It think Sweden is GMT+1, and is currently in "summertime" (daylight savings), which is local time +1. So, that would be GMT+2

Currently we are on BST (British Summer Time), which is GMT+1. But not for very long now.
I assume that Sweden also has a form of daylight savings adjustment and therefore you are also +1 from your normal time.
Eve stays on GMT 365 days a year, and so for the summer even us UK folk are +1 off, but the remainder of the year, the UK is in sync with Eve time (GMT)
In short, for some of the year, Sweden is GMT+2 and for some of the year, it is GMT+1. GMT never moves.
Hope that helps Mattduk

There's nothing wrong with GMT. I called him today and he says he's fine.
It's not that you got your timezone wrong, either. Well, except that maybe you assumed GMT took daylight savings time. It doesn't.
It's that they're late today for why else would i be posting to the forums?

In Sweden you are one hour ahead of Britain which normally means you are GMT +1. In summertime Britains clocks go forward one hour to BST (British Summer Time). Sweden is still one hour ahead of Britain so during summer time you are at GMT +2. This explains why your downtime is 13:00 - 14:00 not 11:00 - 12:00 GMT. Greenwich Mean Time never changes, the countries around it do.

Edited by: Gwyneth on 14/10/2005 12:24:24 Hello. I¦m Gwyneth. Iceland is on GMT. Nothing more. Never changes. And while doing some search on the internet I found this
Quote:
Stockholm, Sweden Stockholm is the capital of Sweden The native name of Sweden is Sverige Current timeFriday, October 14, 2005 at 2:20:04 PM CEST UTC/GMT Offset Standard time zone:UTC/GMT +1 hour Daylight saving time:+1 hour Current time zone offset:UTC/GMT +2 hours Time zone abbreviation:CEST - Central European Summer Time Daylight Saving TimeDST started on Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 2:00 AM local standard time DST ends on Sunday, October 30, 2005 at 3:00 AM local daylight time
So, you are on GMT +2 at the moment, but will be at GMT +1 in 16 days. Good ja?

One of the great things in EVE is the fact EVE is on GMT. And not any PST, EST, XDT, NTV or anything like in many other games. In those games you never figure out when a downtime will be ...
As many said: GMT is always GMT. All year around.
