quick question. I got an osprey i want to load some drones on......I
have the skills but osprey only has 40m3 of drone space. Which is
better? 4X Valkyrie I or 1X Valyrie I (MED) and 1XBerserker I(Heavy)?
anybody
want to take a stab at that?

i'd say 4 valk's, much better against smaller ships (since i'm assuming your not gonna npc battleships with a mining cruiser)

Definitely 4 Valks. And if you're only fighting frigs, you may even want to mix in some Lights if you can control more.

Or do some general math :)
Valkyrie hits for 9 damage every 2 seconds. Has a damage mod of 1.3. Total damage = 11.7
Berserker hits for 22 damage every 2 seconds. Has a damage mod of 1.3. Total damage = 28.6
4 valks will hit for 46.8 damage (approx) every 2 seconds. 46.8 total damage
1 valk will hit for 11.7 damage and one ber for 28.6 damage. 40.3 total damage
In terms of DoT (damage over time) your four medium drones are going to do more damage than one medium and one heavy by around 6 damage points every 2 seconds. Combine that with the advice above about mediums moving faster than heavies and thus being harder to hit... 4 valks is the way to go.
Always use math to decide which item may suit you better and then compare that with tactics.

Also, drones have tracking, just like turrets, so the smaller the drone, the higher the tracking. So not only will 4 Valks do more damage than a Valk and Berserker, they're likely to hit more often.
Tracking also varies between drones of the same class. For heavies, I believe Ogres have the worst, while Wasps have the best.
