Edited by: Elsebeth Rhiannon on 14/10/2005 22:18:30 Electus Matari establishes contact with Jovians
A Jovian pilot flying under the name TomB briefly joined the communications channels of the Minmatar alliance Electus Matari today, 10/14. Electus Matari thus becomes the first alliance to have established contact with the Jovians.
Many members of the alliance had the chance to chat with the pilot, and friendly, if occasionally confused, relations were established. The Jovian was interested, among other things, in mining and DNA research. We have all reasons to hope that this brief but historic contact will lead to future co-operation and benefit to both the Minmatar Republic and the Jovian race.
"After the initial confusion and questions, he was a fun guy, contrary to the tales of stiff, unemotional Jovians", comments Garion Maki, member of the Minmatar United Freedom Front, who was on the comm channel at the time.
"Skyborne Exploration is honoured to have played host to this historic event," comments Cap'n NoBeard, who made the initial contact. "This represents exactly the type of novel achievements Skyborne Exploration aspires to provide."
A short recording showing the pilot on alliance chat can be found here.
Electus Matari is an alliance of corporations loyal to the Minmatar Republic. Skyborne Exploration is a corporation dedicated to providing a structured environment for co-operative space exploration. For more information, please contact Cap'n NoBeard (first contact with the Jovian) or Rocius (CEO of Executor Corporation Gradient)

Actually, about 15 alliances have 'made contact' with the Jovians. Most of those alliances no longer exist though, admittedly. --------

What everyone is wondering, however, remains untold: will there be more contact between EM and the Jovians and if so, what will be discussed?
To me, this sounds like some research project of a curious Jovian who was just gathering information, as they are known to do a lot. I highly doubt anything profitable for EM will result in this.

Edited by: Darmed Khan on 15/10/2005 12:53:00 The Jovians certainly are an interesting race. Despite having a significant bounty on his head, TomB has now been accepted as a member of DED. And I have to wonder exactly why he picked your corporation out of the thousands of other pod pilot communities, to discuss mining and... DNA research?

Actually if you remember way back when, the old Oracle flew with the renegade Jovian commander and a few other Jovians against the Stain Alliance. So, if anything I believe Oracle was one of the first corporations to make contact and SA was the first "Alliance" to make contact with the Jovians.

Wasn't it the Caldari Government that first had contact with the Jovians? After all, that's what we got our pod-interface from.
Might even have been the Amarr, they did go to War against the Joves.
Too lazy to look at the timeline now, and the timeline's wrong anyway. _

jovians dont exist.
rumours about "contacts" been made are usually lies.
this is proven by the fact that their "curiousity" only lasts for about 1 hour +- and then its over. forever. nothing has been learned. nothing has been exchanged .. and one of the gods had a little fun while having a creativity-pause..
if we shall believe they exist, then it is about time for them to show up more massively.
until then theyre just rumours... spooks... ghosts.. not existant - and not relevant..
the true joves, those who helped the gallente and matari's ages ago they would act different.

rumours about "contacts" been made are usually based on fiction stories made for our children.
I am afraid my friends from electus have been victims of a "funny character" playing with them.

Maybe you should take a look at the EVE database, and move a bit out of Matari space and take a look around.. search under JOve in the dtabase and under organisations, and you will find this.
Impro is a small hi-tech company that is one of the few Jovian companies to operate outside Jove space. It manufactures mainly electronic hardware, far superior to those produced by the other empires.
They have quite a few stations in the outerim of the Known empires. Yes joves do exist, i have fought with them

You want Jovians? Check out The Bleak Lands.
While they used to have perhaps 8 stations in the whole region, since it was reclaimed by Amarr, many companies are building new stations, the Jove most of all.

Just because they dont interact with every single citizen of this galaxy or fly around like the average po pilot, doesnt mean they are not here, so again i turn you to our eve dabase, it can me easily accesed from any ship, read up on the jove fraction, or talk to people who actually have interacted with them

Well, the bone splinter in my hangar proves their existance. While logs and databases can be altered - the bone splinter will always give the same result to the DNA test.
whatsoever, its just like with the ancient UFO-Sightings even thou there may be the flying soucer somewhere.. 99% of the sightings are fake.
Dont believe in a JOVE until you have his liver and his bonesplinters in your hangar i say ! yarr!

I imagine that is due to the restricted gene pool the Jovians have inflicted upon themselves by choosing isolation.
Speciation must be a real concern for them; maybe the reason behind the interest in DNA research.
Careful, they want your gametes.
