On May 6th CCP Presented the following change:
Quote:As a member of a corporation you can now quit a corporation instantly without waiting the 24 hours after dropping roles. This applies to both DUST and EVE players. When we released DUST leaving a corporation worked the same as in EVE, drop roles, wait 24 hours, leave corporation. When we started getting feedback from the community about how bad this was and we looked into it what we could do abou it, we realized that this was initially done way back in the day for technical reasons. Upon more research we realized those technical restrictions no longer applied. So we removed this requirement from DUST... and EVE. Because why not.
The other restrictions, such as being docked, do still however apply when attempting to quit a corporation.
Kicking someone still requires removing their roles and waiting 24 hours, and you must still be docked in a station to quit a corporation.
This corporation change also shipped on May 6th.

Shows the state of QA when a nerf feature is added in a patch & annouced 1 week later then the DEV realizes it wasn't added becuase someone then actually tests it

the info says it still takes 24 hour if you boot a char... for all i know the second blurb could be from a char who is in the process of being booted.

Posting in another quality Tom Gerard Thread.
The 2nd box it the box that comes up when you try and kick a member from a corp within the 24 hour cooldown period.
If you (the character) want to leave the corp, you can do it immediately, you don't even have to click the remove roles button first, just quit corp.

Prepare to quit corp still has the stasis. (Corp overview window)
So if you want to quit your corp fast use the context menu in the chat.
If you want to drop your roles without leaving click the prepare to quit corp button. |

I just did the "prepare to leave corp" thing, hoping to just quit asap. Hopefully, I can still quit instantaneously when I log back in by using the chat context menu.
