Welcome to the EVE Character Database. Looking to find names of any TV, movie, book, or anime character? Just follow the below instructions!
1) Open People and Places, on your Neocom.
2) Choose "Character," and type in the first few letters of the name of your character!
3) The character's full name will pop up, along with various mispellings of it!
But seriously, its astounding how many versions of certain names there are out there. They seem to fall into two categories--people who decided to call their main that, and alts that people just gave a name because they felt like it.
Sometimes it seems that People and Places is less so a method of searching for people, and more so a database of various anime characters. Its freaky.
(To add: I remembered that I was going to post this after I flipped up escrow only to find a ton of BPCs being sold by "rei ayonami," the most creative spelling I've seen to date of Ayonami Rei, which I believe has over 50 various characters named after her...)

If you are bored and want a laugh, look at the items on your desk and then type them into people and places.
Cup, keyboard, chair etc. Eve has them all

Yeah I've done that. I've also had some laughs when watching various TV shows and movies--every time a new character is introduced, I pause it and search them on people and places, to find how many results I get... the numbers are nuts.
I mean seriously, can't people be creative and choose a name someone hasn't taken before? The message that says "this name has already been taken" does not mean "add a few more mispellings and put numbers at the end like all the AIM users do."

There is also a great collection of woodland animals, american wrestlers, multiple fairies, japanese sports cars and types of beer.

I am a big Star Wars and I have searched for names of almost all prominent Star Wars characters. All of them are taken and about 90% of them are characters in noob corps and havent change corporations - alts.

Mine is strung together from a list of Matari agent first and last names to get a feel for a roleplayish name. I quite like it. ;)
