Right, I do love the Megathron so, but It's a right pain to fit, and thers so much to choose from, so I'm seeking advice from 'experts'
Im thinking Ions are they way to go, as Full rack of Neutrons plus tank seems to be very hard if not impossible. So far ive come up with:
Highs ----- 6x Modal Mega Ions 1x 'knave' Nos
Meds ---- 100MN AB II Warp Scrambler Cap booster? Sensor booster
Lows ---- Large 'vestment' Repairer Medium 'Vestment' Repairer Exp, Kin & Therm Hardners 1600mm Plate? Cap Power relay?
Is this an acceptable setup? Or is it completly laughable? The mods marked with a ? are the ones im unsure of.
Cap booster - Ive never had to use one before, but from what i've read they are a muct have on the Megathron. I could also use the slot for a Webber or target painter.
1600mm Plate - Is it really neccisary? that other tanking is pretty thourough, but what else could the slot be used for?
Cap Power realy - With the cap booster and the nos, I should have no shortage of cap, but again, what else could I fit in this slot.
ANY feedback at all is helpful, Bad or good. Thanks

Edited by: Tadis on 17/10/2005 03:36:41 With neutron gl on getting tank. With blasterthron's its either tank or gank mate :)
HIGH: 7 x electron 1 x heavy nos
MID: standard blasterthron mid slots - 100mn MWD, cap injector (800) webber and scrambler
LOW: 2 x large rep, hardeners, mag stab's
Drones

Edited by: Akaviri on 17/10/2005 03:52:31 You should use all your high slots. 7x modal electrons will outdamage 6x modal ions by about 9%. Fitting electrons will also leave you enough grid for two large armor reps.
I'd say a heavy cap injector is something you definitely want to use. Also, if you use active cap recharge, then don't bother fitting passive stuff like cap relays or cap rechargers. If you have an empty low slot and don't know what to fit in it stick in a damage mod.
You may also want to consider a webber.
Edit: Tadis has a good setup.

Edited by: Ricky Baby on 17/10/2005 11:01:38 i hate how people say you can't mount a tank and a full rack of nuetrons
7x neutron blaster cannon i 15750 (2250mw each)
base power for a mega is 15500 (with engineering 4 (i must for bs pilots if not lvl 5) you get 18600mw (lvl5 = 19375mw)
leaving 2850 PG
whichj with a RCU II gives you over 4-5k power to fit the rest of your ship

Add in the MWD and cap injector. Also im not sure if the CPU is great.

u must have a mwd to use a blasterthron. AB is not good enough
u need a web and a cap injecter with 800s
i recomend 2 dmg mods
also some sort of tank, or ull die if u land anything over 10km
blasterthron is very hard ship to use, test it on sisi a lot before u pvp for real:
look at ur optimal, and ur falloff u can hit from optimal+half falloff =about 10km with t2 neutrons, less with others

Edited by: Breed Love on 18/10/2005 01:45:51 1. rofl dont listen to those people claiming that you can fit neutrons and tank - u have far from enough cpu for that. Even using best named guns..., which also cost over 10m each, if yer rich then good luck, but if i was as rich as you, I'd buy a vindicator^^.
2. I'd say if you are using cap booster (and you should be on a blasterthron), dont fit any other cap related mods such as cap relays. This will just take a valuable slot and wont help much, since your cap is so crap that its a much better idea to rely on cap boosters completely, rather than trying to get a decent passive recharge.
3. a) dual large reppers is stupid because you dont have nearly enough cap to sustain that, dont confuse thron with an apoc - you will run dry after 3-4 cycles, even when using cap booster (remember you need cap to fire guns, and they use alot, and the cap booster needs to reload too). b) large and medium repper, well many use that. Could be replaced by a 1600mm playe. A med tech II repper will rep about the same amount of armor as a large plate gives during an average battle. Needs less grid but uses cap.
4. a good idea is to fit 1600mm plates, nanofiber works best because it doesnt slow you down as much as others do. You can fit 2 1600mm plates which gives you around 11k armor. This way you can kill things without even using a repper, just relying on sheer amount of armor hp. (you can rep slowly after the battle, this way you save ur cap charges^)
5. use atleast 2 dmg mods! This way you get around 35+% dot increase, which is way more than using bigger guns with grid/cpu upgrade. Also smaller guns have better tracking.
6. yeh and i suggest you pack explosive drones (berserkers), to diversify your damage types.

No way in hell the cpu would allow this.
