Edited by: torpedo on 17/10/2005 09:36:20 Edited by: torpedo on 17/10/2005 09:35:53 Here's a little vid of some random action we had during this war. This version was not supposed to be public, as I consider it as pre-release / internal use only. So.. warning: music editing is crap, quality is crap. Final version coming soon.
Right click, save as... (~80Mb, ~5min).
Oh.. and yes, this is my very first vid, please be soft with meh

I love it! Really! It's a amazing movie. I'm very eager to see the styled version :) Very professional and strategic combat. Nothing but respect for you guys
P.S.: How did you make the UI vanish? I have seen it before in other movies but have no clue how to do it. I always thought it's a post production zoom-in, but your raw cut clearly shows there has to be some short-cut...

Wow, That was good. I have a few questions...
1) When you warp in, do you lock/activate weapons useing your mouse? Do you find this faster then useing F1, F2, etc? 2) When you warp in, you align to get out of there, how do you do that? do you click near the object? or is their a shortcut you use? 3) What is the order you do things, e.g, you warp in with weapons ready, click your target, then align? 4) Can you align to a safespot somehow?
Thanks alot.
Great music btw. I dont recognise it, fancy telling me what it is?

when you know where your safespot is, just doubleclick in its direction to align there --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Surely its easier to align to a planet/stargate or something that shows up on the map tho? with the symbol there to help you, you can get it dead on. But with a safespot, dont you need to even more spot on?
Cheers.

There are two scenarios:
1. "You are warping in from a savespot" Just align 180 degree back and make full speed. You can do this by doubleclicking the direction. If you do it right after warp in you'll see the correct angle of you ship and can guess the spot pretty good.
2. "You aren't coming from that specific savespot" After warp-in, choose the savespot from your bookmarklist (right mousebutton) and click it. Your ship will autoalign and make speed. When the "Warp-o-meter" reaches 85% you have to stop your ship (to break the warp process) and instantly make full speed again. You are aligned now
It's easy. Just takes you some training to do it right when you are nervous about the upcoming fight.

1) Most of time, activating with F-keys is faster. It's just an hold habit to activate them with click. Pre-activating in warp helps to be faster. 2) & 4) Already answered ;) 3) Depends... but most of time I lock target and align back while locking.

Really nice vid. Starts bit slowly and that "spinning around the ship" trick is quite common but works. Good action! Make more vids please.
