Hi.
Im looking to buy a second account. Do i need to buy the game again??, or can i just buy a keycode?.
Also is it easy to run on my computer with 2 accounts, how do i put the new account details in as obviously i cant install the game again.
Im poor with computers, so any advice would be great>>>::.

Some general advice seems to be, 2 accounts can run on 1 pc, if you install to a different directory - I run 2 accounts out of CCP & CCP2 directories on same pc.
If you have 2 pcs, it's a better way to do it - 1 account on each.
You will have to buy the whole thing again, cd, box, manual as the keycode is tied to it.
I can't advise on buying off ebay or somewhere like that.
Hope this helps.

I doubt you'd want both accounts fighting a 30-ship battle at the same time but any decent PC should run pretty smooth.

I used to play on the dev server and the main server back in beta. It gets a little choppy. You're better off doing safe things while you run 2 instances on the same box. Like sit in a station and make things or mine/haul or trade in empire space. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

Edited by: Endyl on 03/08/2003 11:31:11 I play 2 accounts simultaneously with a single Eve installation and never had any problem yet.
In terms of perfs, I would not fight with 2 chars loaded, but can help mine or do trade routes.

I still want another EVE for my son, but I don't know how to buy it. It's a pain to order online, I don't want to pay as much as 4 times the retail price of the box. I only got my copy of EVE because a close friend was in Southampton and he bought the game for me.
Selling online would be cool. _______________________________________________

Whenever you are instaling the second copy, watch carefully. There will be a point at which it asks you to confirm where to install it to. Just change the directory from /Program Files/CCP/EVE to /Program Files/CCP/EVE2.
*IMPORTANT* You must turn the sun occlusion off in the first page of options for both games, otherwise it won't run.
Apart from that it runs suprisingly smoothly on my machine using a Geforce4 4200 GFX card.

Nah no need to reinstall, use the already installed game, and just use the code to activate the account online on the Eve server.

If you install in different directories though, you can set different option? (Or have I wasted an extra directory? :)

Edited by: lord zoran on 03/08/2003 13:30:52 Hi its me again:).
Ok some1 has said for me to install the game and some said that i dont need to and that i can just activate the new account keycode from the eve site, is this true>>??, this would save alot of hassle as i dont see the point in installing the game twice!!/??.
im not looking to play the 2 chars at the same time and i just want to be able to train both at the same time.
So if i bought the new game/account all i would need to do is in the login screen is just change my password and login name and it would bring up my other chars???/ and account??.
This would b great if this is the way to do it:) Sorry for being so stupid, as u may have guessed, computers are not my strong point:) Thanks agin guys, u have been a great help:)

You dont even need to install a second time, just copy your original dir and your good to go.
Course you do need another CD key still.

If you have 2 accounts you would gain a lot from playing both at same time. I use my alt to haul ore while I stay out mining - it makes it more than twice as fast as you are not having to co-ordinate with a different person. It also gives other advantages logistically to playing.
As for the same directory thing - well why not give it a go and find out? I'm just not sure :)

Can't you just order and create a second account and run it on one copy of EVE. Say you login in your first account and then you log in the second account in different directory but with same game copy.
