I got a problem with HW 2.
I recently reinstalled it for a bit of fun, along with the Version of direct x included on the disk. HW 2 has played perfectly fine before on my PC, but now, everytime the lady says "Reserch Complete" the game stalls, then minimises itself. I can maximise it again, but its incredibly annoying.
This happens with the Vaygr and Higaran sides and voice sets, and never with any other sound file.
I have tried reinstalling it and cleaning the disk, restarting ect, all have failed.
Whats wrong?

Usually a bad idea to downgrade your version of direct x.
Otherwise I can't really think of anything, good luck though mirel, I love that game

Nah, it was actually an upgrade.....I'm usally too lazy to keep up with Direct x

if you installed the version on the game disk i highly doubt its the direct X, you say youve had it on before, did you just uninstall it or fif you have a system reset or anything, have you changed any hard ware since? changed drivers? if its when the game says something id put my money on the sound driver

Play homeworld 1, it's far better.
Failing that, you can uninstall hw2, delete all the hw2 related directories, then install direct X and reinstall hw2

nope, only thing running in the background is zonealarm and anti-spyware stuff, and those haven't changed since I last played.
