Since two days the server has been puking hundreds of people out at once...
During these pukes lots of stuff goes bad like people losing ships and ore cans ect...
now im wondering..wtf is going on?!
Since the small change was made the server has been acting up like there is no tomorow...
Since two days i have seen my whole corp being kicked off the server like 10 times orso. Whats the ETA on a fix for this? I hate being dropped in a 0.0 belt! O_o

It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

Yeah, it's annoying. Especially since I often get reboots when eve crashes...dangerous when you're hunting :)

i would guess they got a problem i would also guess they need to fix it. I would guess they know about the problem And i would guess they working on it.
Until then the paranoid will stay locked in their stations, the rest will carry on and live with it. Kinda sux when you lose a ship but nevermind.

well the devs do see to be screaming for the logfiles of these drops, i have attempted to submit several, but as yet cannot automate the process, a STICKY in THIS forum, the one EVERYONE reads about how to log these crashes would be most beneficial for all parties involved.

If a dev screams for a logfile in an empty IRC channel, does he make any sound? The problem here is that the devs are screaming in the wrong places, and are thus not reaching enough ears. --------------- I used to be in the FA. I like cookies. Eve Radio is teh pwn. |

It would be nice then, if they really do want logfiles to be sent, that someone would confirm it either here in this thread, in a sticky or even in-game.

Or just how about the damn newssection?
Or are the devs to scared to post any major problems in there out of fear it might land on some 'just sighned up' player?
This is a very real and frustrating problem. Whenever the server pukes it boots off like 1/3 or half of the comunity who is logged on. 0.0 mining/farming isnt even the worst possible place, imagen having a big battle then suddenly half the people taking part in it get dropped, all who got dropped will likely end up podded while hanging in limbo since the client crashes half the time after a serverpuke.
Furthermore as mentioned before in this thread the lagg on the server has spiked since three days ago, its worst then ever now.
It is very clear to me that the devs changed something to the server! My guiss is they either took down a node OR they are trying new ways to squeeze more people on less nodes.
The problem is its not working, its laggy and the server drops tomuch people to frequently.
Also as mentioned before, if these logfiles are so wanted, have someone confirm it here

Ever had nine mining drones out and you crash. talk about a pain in the arse.
I have lower end specs and the game ran great for me in Beta and near perfect for me after release. I am now experiencing more lag and even the dreaded CTD.
Eve also is starting to Crash my Windows operating system demanding a complete shutdown of my comp.
Not sure if they are fixes, but the game is becomming more volitile IMHO.

Well, judging from yesterday, log files won't help one jot.
First of all, I was on yesterday in the early evening (UK time), when I logged in there were 5300+ players, a while later it crashed me out (Win XP Pro, P4 2.4Ghz, 1 Gig RAM, Radeon 9700 Pro) to a nasty blue screen (no error message) which leaves me only able to reach for the reset button.
However, low and behold, I reboot and log in, only to find server numbers 3000+.
That's 2,000 users crashing together. There's no way that could be caused by local user hardware issues. (2000 logs not necessary to prove that, if 40% of your player base crash simultaneously it's kinda obvious.)
Additionally, if my system crashes and freezes, how the hell can I log it? Afterall, if you reset windows, it can't log an error, let alone EVE logging one.
I have to say also, that until the latest patch, I've never crashed out to a frozen computer, now it's happening a lot. Also the graphical glitches have been far worse since the last patch.
Just my take on it, -- Britannia Futures

Totally agree with you.
On saturday - our entire corp was booted. I think we had around 14 players on at that time. Definitely not client side - thats for sure

Oddly enough, ive seen every single member of my corp be dropped simultaneously leaving me alone but i myself have never been dropped from the server. The only times Eve caused my computer to reboot was switching back and forth from fullscreen to windowed mode. It may be where you're located having something to do with it since most of my corp members are located roughly in the same area and always drop together when they drop. They tell me just give it time before i drop... ----------------------------------- about:blank |
