I also agree with USC about small group battles.
All the blobs I have been apart of were laggy, dull, very unsocial with the displine required to keep a fleet working, and involved lots and lots of camping and tediously slow travel. Then when u finally see a fleet they warped to a BM 100 km from the gate and most will warp before dying, Yay a 40 vs 30 and woot 1 BS dies, and thats cause he made the mistake of warping to 15km. GH3Y!.
Introduce a negative effect on gangs larger than 30 ppl. like sensor interferance -30% to scan resolution or something.
EVE is such that battles seem to mostly occur at gates.
There need to be reasons to fight else where. This doesnt happen in 90% of the systems because targets are travelling or gate camping themselves.
POS suck cause their firepower is so outragous that 140mil ships will pop in no time (30sec then change targets is lame as it is not logical move in combat). POS shoul be like something out of TIE Fighter or Freespace. They can have moderate weapons that can fend of small groups. The shield shouldnt be so impenetrable. Fighters and small craft should have a more involving role vs them, take out subsystems to achieve shield failure on some level.
If CCP want to stop ppl insta-ing like mad every where introduce an individual jump drive capacitor, no reason to insta to a gate if u cant jump right away. This will keep ppl in a system just a little bit longer.
BS are BIG FRIGs, they are very indifferent apart from the scale of them and their weapons, ships like that need more micro management, like possible extending there warp bubbles 1km to help frigs make 200AU warps, or have latch on points for frigs, surely one body in space representing a few is good for server side, especially for travel through several systems as only 1 person needs to pilot.
Also the logistix ships should be like those out of homeworld, a unique ship that can have as many as 8 ships dock at it to gain cap, armour, shield, ammo. not the almost roleless crap we have atm.
and factions ships need more realistic insurance payouts or a maybe a form of salvage insurance eg, no matter how obliterated ur ship was in the ass end of nowhere, if you bought some salvage insurance there is a 40% chance u get ur ship back or maybe ships can be recovered a set number of times before completely going.
