Edited by: sMoKe AU on 19/10/2005 07:26:04 ôThey shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.ö
As Australia buries itÆs last remaining Anzac from WW1. We pause in remembrance of those that have fallen trying to protect our Nation. I put the call out to all AustralianÆs that live in the world of Eve to bow their heads in respect for those that have fought on the shores of other nations so that we might live the lifestyle we have today.
In memory of our AnzacÆs that have passed on I am calling on all AustralianÆs and New ZealanderÆs to pause for 1 minutes silence in the Anzac channel at 1pm EST on Tuesday as we bury our last hero from a period in time that the true Anzac Spirit soared.
In addition to that I am calling on all of us to unite in the spirit of our great nations and join us in Luminaire and we will go have some fun and celebrate. Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend. Come in a PVP frigate that you are prepared to lose. We will be meeting at 08:00 evetime (6pm EST)on Tuesday outside the top station in Luminaire.
Australia takes her pen in hand, To write a line to you, To let you fellows understand, How proud we are of you.
From shearing shed and cattle run, From Broome to Hobsons Bay, Each native-born Australian son, stands straighter up today.
The man who used to "hump his drum", On far-out Queensland runs, Is fighting side by side with some Tasmanian farmer's sons.
The fisher-boys dropped sail and oar To grimly stand the test, Along that storm-swept Turkish shore, With miners from the west. The old state jealousies of yore Are dead as Pharaoh's sow, We're not State children any more We're all Australians now!
Our six-starred flag that used to fly, Half-shyly to the breeze, Unknown where older nations ply Their trade on foreign seas,
Flies out to meet the morning blue With Vict'ry at the prow; For that's the flag the Sydney flew, The wide seas know it now!
The mettle that a race can show Is proved with shot and steel, And now we know what nations know And feel what nations feel.
The honoured graves beneath the crest Of Gaba Tepe hill, May hold our bravest and our best, But we have brave men still.
With all our petty quarrels done, Dissensions overthrown, We have, through what you boys have done, A history of our own.
Our old world diff'rences are dead, Like weeds beneath the plough, For English, Scotch, and Irish-bred, They're all Australians now!
So now we'll toast the Third Brigade, That led Australia's van, For never shall their glory fade In minds Australian.
Fight on, fight on, unflinchingly, Till right and justice reign. Fight on, fight on, till Victory Shall send you home again.
And with Australia's flag shall fly A spray of wattle bough, To symbolise our unity, We're all Australians now.

Take alook at the casualties count. Maybe every nation should make these silly posts from now on?
Stop spamming these forums with stupid threads such as this. No one cares its 100 years ago

First of all WW1 was not a war regarding "freedom" like ww2 was. It was a stupid war which all parties thought would be a quick war. The australians that died didnt die protecting their freedom. They died because they were Englands *****es and thus had the responabilaty to defend England.
Neither Austria-Hungary nor the allies were "good" during that war. They were all imperialistic superstates that were pretty much single handedly destroying the planet with their colonies and ****.

THE WORDS TO THE LAST POST
Come home! Come home! The last post is sounding for you to hear. All good soldiers know very well there is nothing to fear while they do what is right, and forget all the worries they have met in their duties through the year. A soldier cannot always be great, but he can be a gentleman and he can be a right good pal to his comrades in his squad. So all you soldiers listen to this û Deal fair by all and youÆll never be amiss.
Be Brave! Be Just! Be Honest and True Men!

Either your posts must be about EVE or not about EVE, not both intertwined. If you wish to leave sentiments and have a commemorative thread for those who have passed in war you may do so (respectfully) in the OOP.
If you wish to organise a pvp event (as you've stated) for all then do so in the Events forum.
EVE Corporations, Alliance and Organisation forum is for discussions about EVE Corporations.
Please be very careful as topics like this are very sensitive and we will not hesitate to lock them if needs be.

Tis a sad day indeed to see the last of the Diggers fall. Australia's history one could argue has been forged in combat, or at least the spirit of our nation was forged in combat. Tis a sad day indeed.
To those miscreants who would like to argue against this post... well your entitled to your opinion. But since it relates to a corporation and members within the game and has such historic meaning for many Aussies and ANZAC's. Its whole heartly justified.
Oh and dont blather on about justifications for war and such. Soldiers fight and die in wars, they are given orders and carry them out to the best of their ability within the constrains of their moral and ethical judgement. If you want to insult WWI i suggest you look to those politicians and Emperial leaders that ordered the war to begin, not denigrate the loyal soldiers who gave their lives for their people and country. ANZAC's... we have lost a link to our history today. May we not forget the sacrifices our Soldiers/Airmen/Sailors have made for us.
Proudly Supplying Breakfast since.......eh |
