So I have been thinking of buying a plex because I am new and want to focus more on PvP type skills and hunting and killing more so than grinding ISK at this point. I know how to buy it but once I buy it what is the best way to sell it to make ISK off of it. Can I just put it on any station market or do I need to sale it in Jita or one of the major trade hubs. |

You buy it through the EVE webpage just like you bought your subscription. It then appears ingame as a purchase you can redeem. It's be best to redeem it whereever you plan to sell it. Also, if you have been subsribed for a month+ now you should have gotten the Gnosis and other shienies to redeem which you can sell for cash.

Fly a character to the popular station in a trade hub of your choice (search the market for which station is selling everything in the hub system), then redeem the plex to that character, then place it on the market. I would recommend using the Advanced button on your sell order to be able to configure the price and the sale details exactly.
There are price differences between the hubs, but all in all considering market fees and how often others will underbid you, if you want it to sell fast you should sell it for a custom price that's slightly lower than the best that others are selling at. Or for instant gratification (at the cost of a few million), sell it to a buy order, rather than setting up your own custom sell order.
However, make sure that the character is already in the station where the plex is to be sold. Once you claim it, you can't reverse and claim it again somewhere else; you must transport it in your cargo hold, and needless to say that's just what the suicide gankers are waiting for. 500 million ISK in an easy-to-kill ship. |

Selling to a buy order using "Simple" options can be better for you in the long run if you have no trade skills or standings with the NPC corp who owns the station.
If you do have standings with an NPC corp anywhere and you have Accounting and Broker Relations trained past 1, simply head over to the NPC station belonging to the NPC corp you have the highest standings with (e.g.: I tend to use Duvolle Labs in Gallente space). Once docked, open the Escape menu (press ESC on the keyboard), click "Redeem Items", then click "Redeem". The PLEX will now be in your item hangar, and you can post it on a sell order.
If you want the ISK in a hurry, post your sell order low: but before you confirm the order, compare the ISK you will make from the sale (the green number) to the buy orders. If the green number is less than the highest buy order, sell to that buy order instead.
You can make about 5-10% more ISK by selling on a medium value sell order and being patient.

You want to be inside one of the major trade hub stations when you buy it as stated, as they sell better there. People can indeed detect that PLEX in your cargo hold without you realising you've been targetted and really in anything smaller than a PVP-fit tanked battleship you'll be a profitable target to attack.
Dodixie 9-20 is a decent place to sell PLEX atm (Jita has more traffic but you'll get 0.01 undercut faster)

Thanks everyone, I did buy one and sold it to a buy order. I have no trader skills and no interest in being one I just wanted to get a large sum of money to cushion me for losses I know I will take without worrying about mining or things I don't think are as fun. Now I can focus on more fun things like learning pvp and hunting. I was never going to carry it in my ship with me, I did know better than that which was why I was asking so I knew which would be the best station to be in and how it all worked. I wanted to have all that information before I made a purchase and clicked redeem. As always thanks for the wonderful help and advice |
