You read it right. One of the largest alliances in the game is pleased to announce the stain Lottery.
How's it going to work?
Starting today, 19th of October Stain will accept isk for lottery tickets. Entry will be closed at 0.0 on Oct. 26th. The lottery will be weekly, so if you get your isk in late don't worry, it will be applied to the next week. After period is over a drawing will be made by numbers that are assigned to you in order of entry.
How much is a ticket
Ticket price is 1 mil isk per ticket. There is a max of 10 tickets per char. That means alts can purchase more as there's no way to monitor, but we accept this as there's no way around it.
Who can i buy a ticket from?
This char. is obviously an alt. As you may have assumed by now, this is the char. recieving entries. This is just an alt for lotto purposes and no other isk will be exchanged so management will be extremly simple.
What is the payout?
Base payout is guaranteed to be 100 mil isk. I can speak with almost 100% assurance that it will be more than this. The payout is dependant on ticket purchase and there has already been a lot of excitement about this in alliance discussion.
How do I know I can trust you?
We are Stain Alliance. We are a respected alliance and to cheat out members of EVE would hurt out credibility. Yes i am well aware we have enemies and i know who you are. So please don't pollute our thread with *Death to Stain* posts as they are irrelevant to the issue.
How are entry's counted?
You need not send a mail. This char. will only be recieving lotto entry fees. They will be tallied at 0:0 every day and numbered in order of their entry. The 0:0 cutoff and streamlined journal of round numbers makes it incredibly easy to count it up.
Summary
Ticket Price: 1 mil isk
Ticket Limit: 10 per char.
Auction Legths: 1 week each

Good question about how the numbers are brought up. I don't know the exact program but will find out when I talk to the guy next. I collect the fee's, and the number is generated by another member oblivious of the entry information. This will exclude any bias or cheating. He is using some random number generator but i'm not positive which one, so i will ask.

As acting director of SA logistics I just wanted to confirm this is no Hoax. The n00b char. may scare people away but it is just an isk collecting and holding character.

As for peoples fears about picking the winning number, mabe get a corp you at war with to pick a random number between #-# and post it.

Leaving an alliance is one thing, stealing the belongings of that alliance another.
If you ask for respect you should first show some of that "respect".
The rest of the EVE community can decide it self if they want to risk their ISK in this event.

I find it amazing that it took all of about 1 minute for this thread to get moved to the "proper" category yet they allow open flames and irrelevant posts about issues that have forced threads to lock in the past. Leave this discussion for the relevant threads is my only point. Corporations taken over by shareholder votes are not stolen sense the definition of a "shareholder" is an owner of the corporation. But if you insist on trying to get mud to stick please do it in an appropriate thread.

We are just informing the rest of the EVE players with what kind of ppl they are dealing with, after all a lottery is also a matter of trust.
Take FA and their lottery f.ex., even though there were raging hostilities between the 2 of us for a very long time they honor a deal to the end and dont steal from anyone. Noone ever had doubt in their thrustworthyness(sp?). Something that sadly cant be said for SA and their "lotto".

Just for the sake of credibility, how will you draw up the names?
If it is just scrolling though the journal's, randomly picking a name, then sending 10 mil in 1 go is a waste of time, sending 1 mil 10 times ensures you pop up 10 times as much.
Or are you physically going to write down all names and sort appropriately?
Or are you giving the win to basically whoever gives you the 100th ticket?
I mean, I dont know how random the randomness is :)

a random number generator will literally choose a random number between 0 and the total number of players.
Its the computer which will choose the winner, not a person.

The lottery has been payed out. The number was picked that matched someone who bought 10 tickets. I will not give name out unless the person gives me the o.k. As i said this was a shaky trial run. The lottery is now temporarily on hold while we create a system in which the number comes from a source outside of EVE, and also will allow people to pick their own numbers. We will post as soon as the website is ready.

its actually just some nice PR, this'll probably cost us more in terms of isk than we'd make off it.
and seriously, making "deniro" in 0.0 is unbelievebly easy.
