I remember reading that there are some choices that you can make at character creation that have nice starting skills included: one was Caldari, that yielded Frigate 4, for example. Another was Minmatar, I think.
What are some of the nice combinations that yield some of the higher skill combinations at start?
I realize that after a few days in game of training, these advantages are disappear.
Thank you

Ok, thank you. That is not quite what i meant though.
I read somewhere that you can get about 90k skill points to start if you choose certain things at creation. I think I had 50k when I began.
Granted, not a huge difference, but it would be nice to start an alt off with a few extra points to say the least.

Edited by: Solar Sailor on 20/10/2005 09:04:56 I started with over 100K (frig 4, Spaceship Command 3)
You need to choose the military school of the race - then it should be the first/ second/ first options (but i'm not sure).
IIRC the only skills i gained SC, frig, and leadership, but again it was a long time ago

yeah, to get Frig IV, you would neet to pick all of the choices that have to do with flying, and also the military school, as someone else has mentioned. _______________________________________________

Following this path has its advantages and drawbacks.
Pros: You can go right into a cruiser or hauler without having to train up frig and command.
You're really good with frigs and can concentrate on other skills.
Cons: You start out having to buy a new clone.
You don't start with many skills, and have to buy a lot of the basic ones.
The cons aren't too bad if you're making an alt and can fund him with your main. But new players will have to spend a lot of money (which they don't have much of) on things they could start out with right away.
So you can save money and start with a wide range of skills, but have to train up the rank 2 frig skill, or start as an expert in one field and have to buy all the other skills. Neither is better or worse, depending on the player.

1) you always have to buy a new clone, I would suggest that, if your not getting podded frequently, invest in the 0.5 Mil Isk clone it will take ages till you need to replace it. If your running lowsec a lot then take the lowest neccessary.
2) you start with what you need, Isk is easy to get. Your storyline mission should net you a 1mil+ implant, a few more missions for high quality Level 1 agent and you'll have your next million(and may even be really lucky and net some 100K+ hardwiring implants along the way)
Oddly this combo is great for miners. You can in a day or so be skilled enough to get a low end cruiser for mining (Min- Scythe, Cal- Osprey, Gal- Vexxor(or Thorax), Amarr- Any but Arbitrator). The few mil necessary to get these will be earned in your first week, (Assuming you dodge destroyers) ------- Bringer of Squirrelly Wrath - Foaminian Card Cult

Thank you for the great comments. Great information.
If someone knows some specific combinations, please list them as I cannot get even close to 100k.
