Just wondering if anyone else (I'm sure someone else has) failed a story line mission? I just failed on miserably *grumbles*
If so, what were the consequences. I had to fail one mission cause I couldn't kill two interceptors in my Osprey (The Double Agent). Unfortunately, there is no hint to how hard a mission will be and weither or not you should just put it on hold before you accept or just go for it. If I knew this one would have been this hard, I would have waited!
So, I just took a huge hit in the wallet and in my standing, but I'm wondering if there are other reprecussions? Are these types of hits recoverable over time?

Yea, tell me about it. Missions are killer, I had this one level 3 mission where I killed all the encounters except the first encounter, whereas it was a bunch of battleships. I can't take on 3 battleships, a few cruisers and frigates in my lone BS. I had to back out and it dropped me .3 rating.
Also, if a mission quirks out on you, like a server crashes when your in deadspace, you have to quit the mission then run it all over again. So you lose both ways. The one thing I hate about Eve, is that it is always the "players fault", not the "servers fault". Definitely an opposite viewpoint to the standard "the customer is always right" atitude. Even in server crashes, the players take the burden, downright angers me something fierce.

well u loose between 0.3 - 1.0 in NPC corp standings so its quite a hit

In the 'Double Agent' you can warp out and refit your Osprey for anti-'ceptor-work easily and come back to finish it. Or ask someone to lend you a drone or five.
In the 'sabotaged!' mission you just have to bring back the special delivery.
The first group is the sabotaged convoy and it is not meant to be attacked.

I did this mission 3 days ago. With:
Blackbird
3 125 scout, 1 assault launcher
1 medium shield booster, 2 hardener, 1 webber, 1 large shield extender, and a afterburner
2 warp core stabs
No problem doing this mission. I had to warp away and back several times, but this wasn't really a problem. and I looted 10 millions worth of items. (250mm coil, 21% expander...)

i never do storly lines they suck
i have a 10.0 standing toward cal navy, the only thing you get from story lines is loads of jumping harder missions less reward.
there are very few story lines wich give you a good reward for it..

I had to bail on the lvl 4 Shipyard Theft storyline - this caused my Standing to drop from 9.7 from to 7.0

I got a battlecruiser replaced last week when I died due to a giant lag spike in rens.
