Market, bookmarks, escrow, assets... loads nearly instantly.
Thank you, CCP. I heard the new RAMSAN cost 400 grand--it was worth every cent.

Still that heart wrenching pause before everything loads when you enter a new system.. the time between the new system name appearing and everything else appearing seems very slow when youre jumping into dangerous places..

Thats mainly due to the data it has to load for the new system... it actually downloads like 300k-500k of data when you enter a new system

ah okay, its something i've learnt to live with as i'm sure we all have, just thought it might happen a lil quicker with the new stuff plugged in. But i guess its not really dependant on them, but rather the other things along the route. Though 500k should happen faster I'd have thought...

Yeah if you want to see exactly whats going on, try ctrl-alt-shift-M, and watch it as you gate.

Database access gives me 1 sec delays at max. This rocks! For a few moments I was certain the whole game was cached on my comp, that is how fast the market, the map and the mail box was for me.

Any time you're jumping into dangerous places it'll feel like it's taking forever, even if it loads in a nanosecond. You'll always have that "Oh ****" moment wondering who's on the other side and if they know you're coming.

Its definitely faster. First hardware improvement that had instant results.. biggest test of course will be fleet battles. But I haven't done much of those recently on the count of lag and balance, so I won't be able to comment on improvements.
Biggest difference I found was escrow, and market loading really fast. I removed all but two region sets of bookmarks, so its already instant loading there.
Great work CCP, buy more once you cap the capabilities of this one. My next question would be, whats the next biggest bottleneck? I'd assume the # and power of nodes, or the bandwidth pipe.

Let's see... $15USD/month * 70000 subs = enough to buy 2 1/2 of those. And none left over to pay for the devs' lil' drinking parties.

Yep, I have to admit... I noticed the upgrade the moment I logged on today.
Character sheet, map, market... the hardware change today has definately made a noticeable difference.

Yes the asset Window loads very fast.
Also the forum is way faster at loading pages.
Can't wait for a node upgrade.

I would assume that we would have no harddisk bottleneck even if 1 million people joined EVE today.
Next deal is the CPU... which the node upgrade will fix

So after waking up after my nap, I log in.... Somthings diffrent
I click my char and alt tab to the forums, but right after I alt-tab, I hear somthing, STATION VOICES... Could it be, me already logged in?
Well I must say this was a awesome investment that CCP made, and to think this is the the first of many server upgrades?! Absolutely everything I do is almost instant, and I love it.
But now, lets see how this thing handles with 16k people on. But now if I only got my CNR BPC I lost to a bug, life would be perfect

I never really cared about the lag with the market and such. All I want is the lag associated with largee groups of npcs fixed. Which this has not fixed.

Shikari if you could check and tell me how many seconds the science group loads for all the skill books that would be great.
Not sure if for me it loads faster. Its still taking about 5-6 seconds which is what I thought it was before. Then again maybe it was about 10 secs?

Just like to add my voice, and a big thumbs up for the upgrade. The forums feel like they have had a turbo boost, plus some bits of EVE are REALLY smooth and quick now.

I would just like to add my thanks as well for a fanatastic job well done. The upgrade has made a very noticeable improvement to all DB type requests. Didn't get to play to long last night but first impressions were great (now I'm wondering what my moving upto an 8MB connection in the next few months will do for the game).

well, with all the thanks, I have to say, I can not even connect to eve, AT ALL. flashed in and out for like 2 hrs then for the last hr NOTHING....
I live in usa, southern cal, palm desert area.
plz fix asap =( I cant play at all and im gettin sick of clicking the connect button to see the "connecting to server" then "cannot connect" windows.
and yes ive rebooted, cycled modem, etc, all the basic standard fixes for network probs.

I did not notice ANY increase in performance.
If there is any, lag issues probably completely destroy it.
BTW: I am not affected by the current network problems some others mentioned. But I also cannot say that EVE runs faster now at all.

I mostly tested the market and man... That's one fast hamster running it now. Before it was a pain when you bought something because of the update delay. Now the tree displays at the same time the market window shows and the nodes load within a second.
Wasn't even close to that during low load before.
So, two thumbs up from me!

I noticed right off the bat when I was at the character screen selecting different characters, the pic, ISK & location data loaded instantly.
Load times in general have been sped up for me :)

its good, now once u get rest of hardware can u crank up the graphics loads so i can use my new 7800 GTX graphics card to the max, pls pretty pls. else im gonna ahve to play fear more as it looks sublime. :) nice job on the db work, lot lot faster. As mentioned above is client side lag gonna be more noticable now as ur db fast as?

I noticed login was speed fast.
I noticed your ship appears before you are in local, nice for pvp.
I like now where if you have a nice connection you play better.
Yeah, what else does CCP plan to upgrade at the server side????

My EVE sadly runs much worse after upgrades, more lag drones not doing what they are told, disconnects etc etc...
I hope it gets better soon
